Get them dirty or mixed and it's harder to tell.
I took a sample of mine and did the old water test. If it absorbs the water it's DOT 3 and if it displaces the water it's DOT 5.
That's only because yours have loosened up. Mine hardly move.
I like the modern versions that are more like the sliders on pickup truck toppers with no vent windows. Less complex and less parts to deal with. Not a terribly big fan of the sliders on my K5.
Maybe the windows got smashed and that's what they had available. The vented windows are popular in the civy world so it was probably easier for the mechanics of whatever unit it came from to get those than the proper solid glass pieces.
Confirm which brake fluid you have first. Mine has DOT 3 in it. Surprised me. Either it was never converted over to DOT 5 or somewhere along the line someone in the military or Alfa drained the DOT 5 and put it back to DOT 3 before I bought it.
Slapped myself in the head last summer for not doing that when my original Group 31's died. I put a cold air intake in and had to reorient the front battery. No way you're doing that with Group 31's, have to be a smaller battery like you have.
www.offroaddesign.com has their 1" zero rate add a leaves (basically a block but it bolts into the pack like another leaf) that would give you a bit more height in the rear. Keep things a bit more kosher.
You might try throwing a few hundred pounds in the rear and see what it does.
Settles an...
Ahem...
Measure from the body line to the center of the wheel hub. The body line is a constant distance on the body, the fender lips are not.
BTW, the rear is supposed to be 1-2" higher for load carrying.
No, they are not unless GM took a lot of time to cover up the screws. My '89 K5 has the infamous peeling paint of the era and there's not a screw to be seen.
Some trucks got the heaters but not all. It's a standard freeze plug type and I think it's usually the GM one as the one in Big Ugly is the same as the one in my civy '89 K5 diesel Blazer.
Some units put them in, others didn't. Big Ugly came from Minnesota so obviously they'd have the climate...
No, it'd just be a bandaid. You'd still have sagging springs. The add on air suspensions are meant to increase hauling capability or towing stability, not regularly be used as part of the suspension.
First off, measure from the body line on the fenders down to the ground or the center of your...
They're supposed to be slightly negatively arched (frown) in the front and slightly positively arched (smile) in the rear. This confuses a lot of people.
I need to do that as well. Did you get the matt from LMC? Do the plastic pin things come in a set or do you buy them individually?
Funny part is my civy '89 K5 doesn't have a hood matt either.
