Eh, I just bought what I already had. Used plenty of more modern, smaller batteries just fine.
That said I'm in the process of moving to Kentucky so I doubt I'll really need them.
I believe the 6.2L HMMWV uses a different CDR valve...maybe? At any rate, I bet the military has a couple zillion of them sitting in a warehouse somewhere.
Then again they are phasing the 6.2L trucks out of the inventory or converting them to 6.5L.
Canada bought a bunch of Chevy pickups in the late 70's but they weren't CUCV's. Pretty much standard 350, SM465, NP205 3/4 tons. Round headlights and all.
I've got the Hummer Humvee in action by Squadron Signal and it mentions a Chrysler Defense contender and then Chrysler Defense eventually...
AMG built the HMMWV's. The CUCV's were meant to complement the HMMWV's and do the jobs the HMMWV was overkill for. Notice the CUCV and original HMMWV use similar engines and transmissions and similar technology transfer cases. Ford and Dodge were at a disadvantage since obviously they didn't...
Your point?
'82 they showed the government their new 6.2L diesel powered trucks that AMG was considering using the same powerplant in the HMMWV. They win the contract.
'83-'84 the vehicle designs and specifications are approved and production begins.
There's a reason every part on these...
The 6.2L didn't even exist in 1980 and uses different motor mounts than the gassers did.
Don't take this the wrong way but I think yer pal had a bit of truth mixed up with incorrect years. These trucks are basically '84 vintage. '80 is way to early as a whole bunch of the dash, front, and...
There was no '80 Blazer with the diesel. 6.2L started in 82 and the 5.7L abomination ended in 79 or 80.
Technically all the CUCV's are based off of the '83-'84 model years as that was what the military approved for production and service. The military got the same parts and GM got rid of old...
Well, then someone, somewhere has made your truck different than the other M1009/K5 Blazer/Jimmies without AC. Best to figure out what yours is and get that one.
You just want a heater core for a '84 Chevy Blazer K5 fullsize without AC. They'll probably ask if it's a diesel and 4x4 but that won't matter.
Advanced Auto/Kragen/Schucks/O'Reilly's has a decent unit for a better price than other places. I just got the AC version for my civy K5 a month ago...
These trucks are lug centric, not hub centric. GM didn't go to hub centric wheels until the 99+ body style trucks.
Try www.summitracing.com . I have 16x8 aluminum 6 lug wheels on my '89 K5 and my spare is a 16x7 6 lug wheel. All are aftermarket. Only difference is our trucks need about...
I was considering those but their similarity to the old Thornturd make me leary.
I was considering some Interco TrXus MT's on mine but I got my MT's semi-locally for $200 less than I could find the TrXus MT's.
