My son drove up from Ft.Campbell today, reported light snow around Indy. We got 1/2 inch around here (just enough to slick the road up). I am north of Eaton rapids though.
Welcome to Michigan, hope you don't mind a little snow. Drive safe.

Edit: My wife just came home from the store, almost put the Jeep in the ditch. I repeat drive safe.
Any thing can be done, with enough time and money. I have seen a mule with a VW motor installed, also one with a diesel generator motor. Just know all other than 2 or 4 cyl. mule motor will stick out above the deck.
I'll tell ya what, you get to work on your project and I'll get to work on mine. Lets compare progress next Sunday. First one with seat time wins. Now lets both quit mopen around and get to work. I'm headin for the shop right now!

My 2cents..........
1. It's your truck do what you want.
2. Document it's original condition. Photos, front to rear, top to bottom.
3. Start a new thread, "Do you remember using a Babe Ruth rookie card on you bicycle spokes?"

This M135 and the M215 dump in the background came from a yard in Saginaw. The owner had them for 20 years. The mechanic called me as they were pushing the 215 on a trailer headed for the scrapyard. Keep in touch with someone there!
Cool truck, I might know the yard. One thing about some one saying "I'll never scrap it"is one day his kid or yard manager will "clean up".
As far as the bridge is concerned they used a surplus 10 ton.
You guys get everything ok? I went by the yard at 9:45 didn't see ya, went back by at 10:45 on the highway side and didn't see any one. First time by I did see a late model dodge one ton with a 12ft. dropside contractor tipper in woodland cammo, looked real nice!

Well we got 8 inches of snow this week, not surprised the plow truck is gone. Good thing to cause i been watchin it, to many projects now. The grand looks good, you be ridin in stile now.
I measured the back spacing this morning, the M-38 aka Jeep wheels are about 1 inch shallower measured from the inside to the mounting face. This would give you 2 inch wider track width.
Sorry I don't know of any newer vehicles that use the 5 on 5&1/2 bolt pattern. Newer jeeps might, but I...
