Just painted my CUCV with some Shermin Williams CARC 383 green. I think it turned out great. I redid the markings to the same as my National Guard Unit.
Yes..I am in no way a mechanic! I bought this to learn on. In my six years in the Army I have been able to drive a HMMWV once! So I thought I would just by my own MV. I do get to fly a Blackhawk though hehe :razz:

I do have a military radio set up....and have used it alot. I think the alt is still charging the battery..has to. I dont think missing a bulb affects it at all????
For LTWVARNG, your truck had a light socket when it was made. The bulb is a bayonet style that pushes into the socket and the socket twists into a cam lock behind the dash. Remove the screws that hold the dash panel, tilt it forward and go hunting. That is a lot easier than standing on you...
So your tellin me since i dont have a bulb or the gray adapter thing in my GEN 2 outlet then then it wont produce voltage? Wouldnt I have dead batteries all the time?
I'm trying to troubleshoot an electrical problem right now and my gen 2 didnt even have a bulb...nor did it have the little adapter to put the bulb in???
Thats what I was thinking about doing. I'm definitely going to put the nut on the outside this time so if i need to replace them again it wont be a PITA. So you just ground on the pin correct?
