Well I found the solution today. I had to have my friend push the tire forward closed the tailgait and then we locked it down. The lock plate thing is now off center but works fine. I will post some pictures of it later. I took the 1009 to the local airshow today.
So I outfitted my M1009 with all 33' tires now the 33' spare will not let the tailgate close all the way. I'm trying to see if anybody has already found a solution to this before i reinvent the wheel.
If you can find nitrogen which i cant here in Alabama it will help with tire wear. Nitrogen rides cooler and isnt affected by the changes in temperature as much. I run nitrogen in my Bridgestone Duelers on my Hummer H3 and have had excellent results. I would put in the CUCV tires but i cant find...
Well i ordered the kit today...99.95 plus 18 in shipping. My mechanic says they are pretty strait forward. Pull the old stuff out pop the new stuff in. We will find out in a few days..
I would like to replace all the felt lining around the windows. I think they are called channels. The upper portion lower portion and the part that runs along the little triangle window. I tried LMC but the part that runs along the little triangle window is not for my year. Has anybody replaced...
Paid 146 from tire rack...shipping was about 20 a tire but I ordered at 3 pm and had them the next day at 2 PM . Their warehouse is only about 150 miles away. :-D Now I'm saving for a spare......my 31" spare is about ready to bust dry rotted and bulging.

Well i put the 33's on yesterday. I have plenty of room. I think I will just stay stock for now just in case any more expenses come along with the vehicle. The tire I chose look great. They are new from Goodyear, and are a cross between Mud tires and All Terrain. i will post some pictures...
