    M35A3 Recovery from Barstow - 370 miles

I also use State Farm, I got the same thing, non-commerical use of a commerical truck insurance for about $277 for six months. I plan on using it for some projects around my place and did not want to try for collector type insurance as they typically forbid driving the truck, loading the truck...

New owner of M35A3, How do I....

Ditto on the TM's. They are a must and if you have anyone nearby, go for a visit. The A3 has everything structural in common with an A2 and different drivetrain. You can find parts and assistance in suprising places. The road trip was slow and would have been a lot more fun if I had another...

Putting yr deuce in a trk pull

That is cool. I bet none of the other guys pulling had a full sized workshop on the back of their trucks.

New owner of M35A3, How do I....

Congrats on the new truck. I might be able to send you a copy of the -10, it is the operator's manual. If you google a bit you can find the Army website and download it for free. The trans is serviced with engine oil in the military, it runs fine with ATF and actually runs cooler by 10-20...

Sale 4991- EUCs stuck at GL?

I won a truck in January, paperwork went in within a week and went to Battle Creek, it took until the first week of April to come back and that was considered normal. About 70 days start to finish.

    +/- A3 vs A2 Comments!

In 1995 for the 50th anniversery of WWII I bought my dad a Garand. He had shot a few over the years but never owned one. He used to joke that one of his buddies was from Texas and insisted on a Winchester, so I got him one. He was very happy to celebrate D-day that year.:-P A deuce to go...

    M35A3 Rim Photo Please

They look like they might work to single out an A2. Any thoughts on that idea?

    +/- A3 vs A2 Comments!

Apples and Oranges. I'm always suprised at the hate from a small percentage of the A2 crowd. Oddly enough it is not that hard for an A3 owner to like A2's also, but for some A2 guys it causes rage for an A3 owner to enjoy his truck. I doubt anyone can rebuild a multi-fuel engine for less...

    +/- A3 vs A2 Comments!

What computer? I've been looking all over and can't seem to find one, not even a little one. CTIS has an "OFF" switch that renders it moot or if it works it actually fills up tires with bullet holes. Radiator hits work the same for all trucks and the military actually calculates how long engines...

    Deuce in west Africa.

The show was called "Survival: Life in the Balance" and was on the local PBS station at 8pm Tuesday the 13th. Besides being an interesting show about treating tropical diseases and trying to get folks to improve their living conditions, it had a deuce. :D

    Deuce in west Africa.

So I tuned in to PBS to watch a show on diseases in Niger. The country has a program where they are trying to cure or reduce some of the diseases common with people who live in a hut with goats and chickens and crap in the streets. So they get a huge shipment of meds and need to load it to go...

PNW-2010-Second Annual Chehalis River Valley MV Convoy/Camp-Out

I'm out of state in July or I'd try and make it. In the mean time I'm trying to get an SF97 and get my truck registered in the next month. It has some work to do this spring and summer. Sounds like there are a few guys on the east side. If you see me chugging along in my A3 honk and wave.

3 color desert paint on m1009

I'm interested as well. I have an A3 in tan and have been pondering a nice three color desert camo job to liven it up.

M35A3 from GA to WA, I need ideas.

I spent the first three days home dreaming of driving my truck. I could feel my arms shaking as the wheel vibrated from the unbalanced wheels,,haha. Things are better now. It has been cold, windy and/or rainy since I made it home and that makes fiddling with the truck less than fun. But...

Picked up an A3 in MD to NC today-

Mine hummed along at 48 or so at about 2600 rpm. It was so smooth I just drove it at that speed. I have noticed that cooler weather and more humidity gives the same speed with a bit less revs.

    Filter Help M35A3

Looking at my paperwork from Cat, they have two filters listed with Cat part numbers but do not say which is fuel and which is oil. They are, Filter_________ 3239 _______________ $13.22 Filter AS_______1R-0739_____________ $10.90 The trans filter kit had part number 29540976, which...

    Filter Help M35A3

I think you would be better off with the Cat oil and fuel filters personally. I had to use a Baldwin for the trans and a Fram for the air.

What did I get myself into?

I won an A3 in January and drove it cross country last week, trust me it ain't for the faint of heart or in a deuce in a questionable state of repair. I had a low hours truck and had the Cat dealer go through it. It got a clean bill of health and off I went after a couple of long test drives...

M35A3 from GA to WA, I need ideas.

I'm home and man does my butt hate me. Yesterday,I passed a guy with an A3 or a 5-ton heading south by Crow Agency Montana and waved a hello. I was day dreaming and almost missed him. The truck ran like a top, it has a cam cover oil leak that made a mess of the bottom of the truck. It only...
