I was looking thru NC DMV information and most of the commerical vehicle drama is reserved for trucks over 26,000lbs. The deuce comes in under that weight every time. I'd look on the ticket for the statute that the cop says you violated and go see what it says.
The 4,000lb thing is the...
Still waiting on my EUC, as soon as it arrives getting the truck picked up, serviced and the road trip firmed up. Before I drive anywhere we are going to have the overhead on the eingine done and get the motor oil out of the tranny.
We leased entire ships for hauling equipment, it may have actually been cheap to send it there and back. You never know Unlce Sam might get a bargain now and then.
I was thinking about buying one of those for the same purpose. I figured it was safer than a conex box since my property is out in the middle of nowhere.
I have a turbocharger that is intended for a Cummins KTA38 engine. It is a rebuilt Garrett that came directly from Cummins. It is also very large and new in the bag.
Any ideas on where to sell it and to whom? It was intended for a prime power generator and never used.
They had about 40 acres of ruined trucks on the back side of Camp Liberty when I was there in 2007. I'm not sure if you would want them. From the looks of most of them, someone died turning them into scrap.
Hopefully, they will finish destroying them before the Iraqi's use them for displays...
I liked the old infantry museum at Benning. It had style and character you can only get from an old creepy building full of cool stuff. The new museums tend to be long on sorry looking diaramas and short on actual equipment and displays of interesting stuff.
The armor museum at Napoleon's...
I bought my A3 in Georiga in mid-Janurary. My EUC is chugging along and might take another month or so. You should have a little time. If you can find someone to check and see if it has fluids all you might need is a set of batts to go for a drive.
Apparently the EUC will get finished well after the weather breaks. So that is swinging things in favor of a long slow drive. If it turns into a drive, I figure a stop in Memphis for parts, the visit a buddy in Little Rock and then wander northwest thru Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana and...
I agree the only thing the hour meter tells you is hoe long the hour meter has been in the set. That being said we rarely changed them. Wetstacking can be a problem they can be load banked easily for a couple of hours and they are as good as new.
Figure 1 gallon for every 10KW of generation...
Look for a TM for the 30D-36R genset. I used to work on them until I retired last year. If nothing else the engine is an air-cooled Robins and I know you can find information on-line about them. The chinese make a carbon copy of them.
The only thing you might need to do it flash the field...
I'm just west of Spokane. I'm all for combining to build a full load for a shipper to haul or adding to my GVW to offset the costs. I've got some emails out with requests for estimates and questions at the moment.
The driving idea is semi-firm at the moment. If I manage to split the cost of a haul to Washington with another interested member that has an appeal as well. If only to save miles on the truck.
If I drive, I'll post the route and maybe say hi to a few guys along the way. I'm really wishing...
I won to an M35A3 on the last GL auction. It is in decent shape and my brother lives within 20 miles and will pick it up. He is also a top notch mechanic and will do the services on it after we get the thing.
I live in Wa state and we are planning on driving it here. I figure driving it will...
I think the total up the cost of parts plus labor at you min rate. If you took a few pics of everything and spent 10 dollars on a thumb drive to store it that would be even better.
A guy who can wrench a little may not be impressed, but a guy who wants a good driving truck and likes the...
I'm not totally helpless, it will kind of suck to not fill out a supply chit and get the parts for free. I spent nearly 27 years in the AF/ANG. I spent quite a few in combat comm and we drove A2's everywhere we went. We even used them during a few good fire seasons in the 90's. Having power...
First of all, hello to all of you. I have been pondering buying a deuce for a year or so and wandering the internet aimlessly reading everything out there. I decided to try a gov auction and have failed a few times over the last few months. This week may actually be my week.
It looks like I...
