Hey guys.....
Just thought I'd post these pics. This HMMWV is sitting in a business parking lot about 30 miles from me. Got out the camera and took some photos. Sorry they're not the best but it was getting dark. I will post them all (because I know all of you love pics) and then may add a...

I have never bought anything from GL, but I inspected the Deuces & CUCVs last year at WR. Based on that, if possible a preview is best! I saw things on those trucks that were not shown in the pics or at least not obvious in them (leaks, damage, missing parts etc). You're able to really look...
It's YOUR money right? So, why ask for her permission????
Buy it and enjoy it with or without her. Shouldn't she love you, for being you and try to understand your hobbies?
My suggestion is to expand your search.
I see them pretty regulary on ebay in Florida and I'm sure they're on craigslist there too. Why not consider them, since you can inspect and drive it before buying.
GL isn't going to let you test drive.....

Hey wreckerman: what other recipies do you have???
Just curious, you know...in case an opportunity presents itself in the middle of the road on the way to the rally.
Okay, I'll step out and be the lone voice in the OD wilderness and say: sell it.
Here is my simple thought...I see so many people with stuff they want to keep but will never do anything with. Let it go to someone else that really wants a 109 project and will fix it up now and enjoy it. It's...
Hey cyclejay...welcome again!
I live in GA too, but I'm not sure how much help I'd be working on a M1009.
My parents watch these fireworks from their front porch, they live off GA Hwy 20, about a mile from Hwy 575. It's usually a good show from what they tell me!
Formula One engines are amazing!
They are now 2.4L, 90 degree V8s that are limited to 18,000 rpm - they no longer use turbos. They use pneumatic values instead of conventional springs, and variable valve timing isn't allowed. No team will talk about specific hp or torque numbers, but I've...
Yes!!!!
They were required by the government contract - they are "Mil Spec" and 100% original. They were required by the U.S. Army, since they also help vent the cab too. Glad I was able to clarify this for you.....
Next time a super rare one of a kind M1008 like this one, comes up for...
No you can't, since the hi-output J-code diesel engine was only installed in one M1008 that was kept on the base in Texas for light duty errands. This was it!! There are no more CUCVs coming up in government auctions either - they are gone:wink:!! This one had zero rust;-), the original military...

Some of these ebay sellers are just funny! They are at least uninformed about what they have or perhaps just a little shady in their advertisement. The text of this ad does not inspire any confidence too me. Plus I checked out the seller's feedback and then decided to keep looking!!
- It has...
Jay...nope - I'm still looking around to get my first one. I'm thinking a CUCV would be a good choice for me too, but I've looked a Deuces also.
This M1009 looked good - I'm sure you'll have fun with it!!! Take your time, do things on your schedule and just enjoy it!
I plan to go the...
It's a compromise I guess, since you lose the enclosed people/cargo carrying capacity of the stock Blazer.
This makes me think of the old IH Scout Terra pickups or an early half cab Bronco.:-)
