Looks like I am not going to make it. I have to work Friday and Sunday and I just blew an exhaust manifold gasket on the 5 ton. I guess 36psi boost was too much
Funny. I drove my truck 450 miles total in two days and a friend of mine called me iron man for that "journey". Wes does 450 miles to warm the motor up
After being harassed  by Prospector GM, I have made arrangements to go. I might only be able to come up for a day trip but I will work out the details soon. I should have a M105 bed on my truck by then, no more tractor
Just got back from a 450 mile trip to Pismo beach
Don't use cinder blocks as a jack stand. This one almost cost me my life. I was only using the cinder block for a few seconds while I shimmed the bottle jack with 4x4's
I went on a 400mile round trip this weekend to Pismo Beach, CA. The truck ran awesome and did great in the sand, M931a2 with a M105 trailer. At idle there is a grey haze and the EGT's are really high at 1000 degrees just cruising 55mph on a flat freeway. I want to try to clean my injectors but...
My only worry would be the tires. The COG being so high, the trailer will want to sway and that will add stress to the tires. I've had 4500 lbs of gravel in mine and it pulled fine behind my pickup truck. A tire blowout would end your fun day
Stock boost is probably somewhere around 15-18. The only way to increase boost is to increase fuel delivery aka turning up the pump. These trucks don't have a wastegate so fuel flow is the only method.
These have been the most helpfull vids.

Remember the torque specs on the nut are important
I got mine from Ebay. I was a little nervous installing them because of the thin washers but it wasn't tat bad and only took 20 min.

If you go too many clicks on the gov springs you loose the ability to control idle speed. The gov spring kit fixes that

Just a taper, no key or splines. You'll also need some timing tape or you can print your own here. I think the pulley is 8.75? diameter which is 225.25 mm.

The gear is bigger than the hole. All you can do is use a gear puller to remove the gear from the taper but not remove the gear from the housing, or loosed the IP mounting nuts and knock the IP back a 1/2" or so.
I bought 4 yards of this for my 5 ton driver seat and bench. OLIVE DRAB 500D CORDURA 60"W URETHANE COATED WATER REPELLENT MILITARY FABRIC
Its worked really well so far.
I'm trying to wrap my head around this and an stuck. A few months ago I attempted to advance the IP timing 6 more degrees(14 total) but after I was done I kept wondering if I retarded the timing by mistake. After driving the truck I didn't notice any more power and my EGT's seem high, like 900...
Nice to have met everyone, I had a great time. Other than a rear axle seal leak and the brakes locking up on my 105, the truck ran great. I kept forgetting to take pics but here is what I have.
Oh yea, I want a rematch on giant Jenga
