It is an area North of Glenwood Springs, Colorado. I am lucky to be able to hunt there. I go hunting with some friends of mine who's family has been hunting there for 40 years. I will post more when I get back.
They rubbed on the exhaust clamps I have. There is a piece of flexible pipe in the wheel well. I cut a couple of the lugs before I remembered I needed to spin them around. Then they rub on the steering and the louvered pannels when twisted and turned. They will clearence but I will do...
More pics of the tire/wheel reassembally. Had the tires broken down at a local tire shop. 8 bucks a tire to take them apart was well worth it. It took three of us several hours to put them all back together. Once we got a system down it was not bad. We used the 900-20 tubes and liners. Just...
So I went to Las Vegas with my girlfriend a few weeks ago and found 100dollarman.com (Mark) on SS. He had an add with tons of tires and a bunch of trucks and trailers out of Lucerne Valley California. Only about 190 miles from Vegas. I thought we might get boared after a week in Vegas, we're not...
Just a few pictures of the deuce on the trail to hunting camp. August, 2009. The trail is made for Jeeps and ATV's. We managed to squeeze through with only a few back up's on the tight corners. My friends were seriously suprised. Then they insisted that we take all the gear to camp in the...
Roger that. I want to be clear. I was not at any time insinuating that JATonka John was a bad guy or a reperbate or abandonded his post. He has been to my experience and all the others on SS and other forums a top shelf guy. When I was checking the mail on Friday and did not see the package and...
I was wondering if one could take a master cyl from a later model truck and mate the air pack to it. I like the air system. I have been contemplating power steering and brakes with a dual master for my M-37 for quite some time. I also saw a duece air setup on an M-37 in Phoenix AZ where I bought...
I was taking the Labor Day weekend into account when I ordered as I sent the check last Saturday, Aug 29th, in the morning. It should have arrived Monday or Tuesday. Also why I called John's cell on Friday Sep 4th. It was late in the day. He is eastern time. I am mountain time. John's contact...
I was just saying it was a challenge as a joke. I figured you all knew better than I. I was just contemplating this question while I was coming down a tight switchbacked mountain road when I preran into hunting camp. My crash site would be a 1000 foot drop off. Others have gone off the edge and...
Honestly I am not worried about him other than he is o.k. After thinking about it I am more worried that he did not get my check for some reason. Annyhoodle I sent him a P.M. and an e-mail. Also it is Labor Day weekend. Maybe the guy got out of town for a few days. I am sure he deserves it. :-D
Roger that. I was not insinuating that he was not a standup guy. Far from it. My check is still uncashed. I figured he just got busy or he did not get my check or something and I did not want to chap his hide by calling and bugging him. I would rather make friends and get parts in the long run...
Oh. Now that sounded like a challenge......Seriously though that makes more sense. I just did not know the dual masters existed. If it is just a matter of low availability and serviceability then the dual singles discussions make a ton of sense. That's why I asked.
I saw all the hubub on the SS site about the JATonka filters and decided to get a primary fuel filter adaptor cause my primary is leaking. I called John and set up how to order. Great guy. Very personable. I sent him a check last Saturday. Subsequently I have not heard back, the check has not...
I was looking through some adds that showed a 1994 M35A3 with a dual chamber master cyl. Is it possible to install that system instead of doing dual single chamber master cyl. and dual air packs? It would seem to be more simple than a dual single setup. I thought the more experienced guys here...
Hydrolocking a motor is bad!!!!!!! Take the conservative approach. Try turning the motor with a socket and ratchet on the front of the crankshaft or by taking the bell housing cover off and moving the motor with a flywheel wrench (prybar against the bellhousing will work in a pinch). If it wont...
You are right about the spec being subjective. Like the other guys I just tighten them until I get some good resistance turning the hub and then I back it off 1/8th and check for resistance again. There is a sweet spot I have learned over the years but you only get that feel by doing it alot...
I bought my truck with the vinyl cover and had not taken it off until yesterday. I didn't know what to do but the best way seemed to be fold the sides over the top and then roll it toward the cab over the top bows. I was able to do it myself and then stow it in the front of the bed. I did not...
Yep, a little heat if it is seized. Maybe some MAPP gas instead of propane. Just a touch hotter. I usually start by hitting one end with a punch to rotate it in the slot. Then you just keep tapping on it till it rolls out. Heat if neccesary. If it is a square grove key none of that works too good.
A lot I imagine. The thing to think about is how often do you go much over 50 miles? I have all my peeps from the 4X4 club and can push the panic button day or nite. We range from 50 - 400 miles from home on 4X4 outings. I don't know where all the SS members are in that range. You might be...
