I too would love a PTO mounted genset on a deuce coming off a transfer case PTO. It would be nice to have power and air handy on the truck, but it definitely seems to not be cost-effective. I'll just get a MEP-002 instead.
I was wondering how the scout unit planned to use the trucks, then I see the plans are to haul gear. I hope anyone who uses the deuces knows that it is against BSA policy to allow scouts or scouters to ride in the open bed of any vehicle. Unfortunately, that means no riding on the troop seats in...
Unfortunately, it does not have a winch, nor does it have troop seats or a cargo cover. The only "special" thing about it is it's a hard top and the personell heater that usually goes along with a hard top.
As for the hourmeter having around 1600 hours, I think it only showed maybe 600 hours...
If the last 2 digits indicate the year, than it's an 80. It has something like 44k on the odometer, but something doesn't add up because I don't think the hourmeter showed a similar realistic number.
I found a deuce and bought it, though I have to wait 4-6 weeks for the seller to complete the paperwork to get a title before I can take possesion of it. The kicker is that at the moment, the seller and I don't know what year it is. I do have the vin for the truck. Is there any way to decode...
I've found a deuce that's closer to me, but is about $500 more than the ones I was looking at getting. I don't think I'm allowed to mention prices, but he's asking about the third of the cost of the average bobber. It's a 1970 M35A2 cargo truck with 33K miles, without a winch, soft top, the...
I guess a winch truck really isn't an essential for me. Probably when I get one truck, I'll have the itch to get another, and then I can investigate getting a winch truck. Once I get one deuce, I would think it'll get significantly easier to get more because I'll have an understanding of what to...
I've been looking at getting a deuce. However, the guy I was looking at getting the deuce from, only has trucks without winches, and isn't sure when the next time he'll get one with a winch is. Additionally, he charges a $1000 premium for winch trucks over non-winch trucks. Honestly, I don't...
What kind of filtering are ya'll using for the finer filters? I see people listing what micron they are, but are they just spin-on oil filters and bases, or what? A quick step by step, or even just a picture of a setup with some part numbers would be greatly appreciated.
I'm pretty sure that gladhands are genderless, and it doesn't matter what side you put them on. The inner gaskets are replaceable so you can color code them to be either service or emergency brakes.
So, did you drive it home with a license plate and insurance? I can't think of how I could get either without having the title in hand. I sure don't want to get pulled over and not have any documentation stating the truck is legal to be on the road. I'm glad he was so willing to work with you on...
When I spoke to Chris, he claimed that all the trucks were "runners", but to what condition, he wasn't very clear. So long as I can drive it the 200 miles to get it home, it's all good. The whole titling and insurance issues are what worry me, since I will have to drive it home. Thanks for...
If it's the one I'm thinking of, it claims to be a box bolted onto the top of a cargo bed which can be removed to reveal the cargo bed. When you go up there, try to check out all the deuces he has, and let me know what condition they're in. I'm planning on getting one from him soon. Also let me...
Sorry about that doghead. The situation has been rectified.
So, the PTOs are not present unless the equipment present required it, but can be added later on with the appropriate parts. Good to know.
Back to reading the TM for now.
Hopefully I don't mess up on my inagural post. I've been reading every thread I can find for the past week or so trying to absorb all the info I can.
I've read quite a few thread saying to crank the motor for a couple seconds every time you start it up with the fuel pump cut off to check for...
