Well I have a freshly shod goat. We decided to go tubeless but tyre place couldn't couldn't get the beads to expand out on to the rim, ratchet straps and bead blaster didn't help. In the end I had to collect the unmounted tyres and do it myself with aerostart and a gas torch, a bit of messing...
I'll post pictures when I get them fitted, they are the dukw tyres. I looked at every option I could find but couldn't find anything that would work. Mickey Thompson used to make a 40x12.5r18 but they are it of production now.
I'd like to do the myself and save a few bucks but I'm unsure whether to run tubeless or add tubes as recommended by the manufacturer, so will see expert help.
That's a CMP, or Blitz truck, common through Canada and Australia during the war years and built by both Ford and GM. Waaaaay bigger diffs than the vehicle in the original post.
Greeting and welcome from an Aussie goat owner.
The transfer case change isn't too bad Amy, I did it a few months ago, maybe start another thread on it.
The authorities here in Aus would have me off the road in no time flat if my goat looked like that. After a bit of Dutch courage last night, I ordered 6 new tires from Coker, time to sell some stuff from the shed to pay for it. Anyone want to buy a 33 Dodge buckboard.......
The only alternative I've found is 3" smaller in diameter than the stock tires, I'm not willing to give up that much height. I've gotten to the point with my stock tyres however that I can no longer drive the goat, so I'm getting desperate.
Hi all, I have just bought an M715 but it's missing the soft top frame, grill guard and all 4 lifting shackles, I'd appreciate any leads on finding replacements. Would need to get them to California for shipping.
Thanks
I like the rubber hose on the return line option, I'll try that for sure.
The contam thing sounds interesting, I've never heard of it before, I wonder if it exists in Aus.
If only it was that easy, the filters are all new wi maybe 20 miles on them and I cleaned the tanks out before I changed them. Will pull them to check anyway but I'd be surprised if it was that easy. I've been meaning to add a fuel pressure gauge to the second filter so this might be the right...
It was after a stretch of about 5 minutes at 55mph, it lost power and started running rough, recovered a bit and then stopped. I waited a few minutes and it started after a bit of cranking and then seemed fine, I babied it home and haven't started it since. I reckon it was starving for fuel...
