Truck all painted
Inside of the Cab. I bedlined it with tintable bedliner, did the roof and floor.
That is pretty much where I am at right now. Hoping to get it finished up in the next few weeks. Then it is going up for sale. I will miss her but a regular cab just isn't big enough. The...
First a little back ground. I bought this truck from GSA for hauling and to redo later. Later has come now. Here is what I have done. 6.2 turboed, 3in down pipe to 4in exhaust. Marine injectors, new gaskets, hoses, etc. Truck had bsically no rust except small holes in the cab corners...
I would bypass the rear valve so you have full pressure at the calipers. You should be able to lock the brakes up with a heavy load with no trailer brakes. If you can't lock them up you might have a bad master cylinder or other problems. I bypassed the valve with the stock rear brakes and...
Did you bypass the rear valve? At the weight you are at trailer brakes are manditory. I have done that weight and more without, but you have to think ahead and stop early. That being said you should be able to to lock the brakes up.

The duramax will fit in a square body chevy with some modification. Do a google search. There are a few out there, one inch body lift, modify the front cross member, move the trans crossmember, and do some wiring. I am about to start this swap on a 89 suburban that is a old goverement vehicle...
You can jump it with two cars or two battery chargers. The only way to get 24 volts is to go from ground on first battery to the positive on the second battery. If you treat each battery as a circuit you are fine. pos to pos. neg to neg. Its not hard. I have done it many times

I have a crack in the hump under the seat also. My door striker was cracked real bad. Also my old doors that I took off had cracks in a few different spots. I think the metal thickness and grade was subpar. Also these trucks have probably taken a beating.

Pulling a tractor trailer out of an intersection during a snow storm.
Bury it of the side of my buddies dads drive way trying to plow him out. A guy in a f250 stops to pull me out. While clearing a path he gets stuck. So I had to get out. A few minutes of rocking and I get the front tires...
They are both isolated ground from the factory. One is grounded to the block and the other runs to the negative on the back battery. If I remeber right the drivers side runs the front battery normally so it should be grounded the block by a ground strap if it is a factory style alternator.

I have everthing you need to put it back to 24 volt system except for the alternator if you decide to do that. The thing I like the most about the 24 volt setup is how fast the starter cranks. My cucv starts better than my 2002 chevy I had.

You just need to line the body lines up and try to make the gaps as even as possible. These trucks weren't perfect from the factory. Once the body lines are good and gaps are lined up if it is still hitting the stricker, then it needs adjusted.

I just thought of the hmmv stuff because all of them I have seen had more belt spots on the pulley than the standard cucv. Any ways you should have three.
