    My new M1008

They must have considered it a non runner because the dash is missing. At least you have easy access to checking all of the wiring! Looks good, now to figure out just how much fun you want to have with it.

mechanical fuel pump removal on 6.2L

Beer and a friend. Easier for you, not so much for him.

Running about 45-50 miles a day 6 days a week. That's just for my regular work, I can end up going to 2 or 3 jobs in a different day and rack up 100 miles fairly quick. Using WVO is great because it instantly halves my fuel costs....provided it works correctly.

That sounds like a decent idea....got any pics/links to what you run? I don't really WANT to do a dual tank setup unless I have no other choice. I would however be happy with heating up my primary fuel line and running mix WVO/pump.

Right now I am just filtering the easy way, once through nylons for big junk, once through a 20 micron pre filter, then into the tank and through the new spin on I have. As much as I like not having to convert to Bio...I am thinking I might have to. Mainly because I can't run my GMC Duramax on...

Well this is interesting. So I RTFM'd the fuel system and the mechanical pump is supposed to put out between 5.5 and 6.5 psi during cranking. With the new fuel gauge I have installed I arm reading between 9 and 11 in the input side of the filter. I know that over pressurizing the system is a...

mechanical fuel pump removal on 6.2L

I fully agree that you fix the symptoms and not slap a band-aid on it. That just pushes the problem to a down the road (or stuck on the road) fix. But if given the choice of replacing my 30 year old mechanical and fighting that stupid rod and tight fitting fuel lines...or going with an inline...

mechanical fuel pump removal on 6.2L

I like my tinfoil hat. I also like the added convenience of not having to crank the snot out of my engine while running back and forth to the bleeder port. I'll stick with my electric pump upgrade when this pump dies.

So I finally was able to take old Gritty out and putz around the neighborhood (bald tires in the mud = slightly more pucker factor moments that I like). I run a mixture of 50-50 to 70-30 Pump/SVO fuel and I am getting a decent plume under load. It is HUGE when I first start, evens out reach...

mechanical fuel pump removal on 6.2L

It is an upgrade because it provides all of the basic functions as well as other functions that assist on the operation of the vehicle. Just like any other "upgrade" you put on you can do without it...but the question is do you want to.

    M1009 project

Looks like you have a pretty decent ride. At least yours came with the front brush guards assembly and all the parts. Gonna keep it white or go back to Camo?

Denton, NC rally set for April 11-13, 2014

Roxbor0, NC to Denton, NC 1:48 minutes at average speed, about 1:15 while enjoying it. I think I might be able to get enough free time to go down there and pick up some TOYS!!!

Some questions about winterizing my 1009 for a move to Alaska.

Adding the additive and using winter diesel will help, keeping the fuel line warm helps the initial startup. At a certain point it's just gonna be **** cold and that can cause the solids to build up. I take it you're going to Ft. Wainwright?

Need some help M1009 will not start up.

You can look for stuff like Starbright and Lucas Bio-Medic to kill the algae. Not a bad idea as a maintenance issue, but are you sure it's the algae build up you are having problems with? Is your filter covered in reddish brown slimy crud?

    leaking fuel injector

Just bought some yellow 1/4 inch fuel line for my filter upgrade. Problem is the local auto boners don't carry 3/8 and they don't know if they can get it. I asked the manager to at least order a roll for the store (and if the price per foot blows I'll go somewhere else). So...got a good...

Some questions about winterizing my 1009 for a move to Alaska.

Battery blanket or battery chargers are a must as well. I grew up in Fairbanks and we had a whole pile of stuff we would throw on to keep her at least decently warm. Another item we used to keep fuel lines decent was a drop light with a low wattage bulb. Won't put out a ton of heat, but it is...
