We plan to build it ourselves. If you are interested there are some great build chronicles over at Expedition Portal. My particular favorite is at:

I would love to build a composite box like these guys...
Not that I am aware of! :-D
My original plan was to re-register it as an RV once I have the requisite RV requirements installed. Of course that requires me to stop watching football and start fabricating the expedition box for the backend!
Yesterday was a seminal day in our little M1078 adventure .... I successfully acquired plates and registration for the old girl!
I have gained so much assistance from this site I thought I would share my experience in hopes it saves other folks the anxiety I felt prior to getting it done ...
Parts Scavenger Hunt ... Follow up
Just wanted to close out this thread with a thanks to NDT and Artisan. At NDT suggestion I found, bought, received and installed the heater vent grille from a seller on ebay.
As for the heater control panel label ... I took it to my local engraver and he...
So I am winding up the renovation of the cab of my M1078. In the process I have run into an obstacle trying to replace two compromised pieces.

I feel kind of stupid now ... the door handle and window crank popped off pretty easily .... they just have...
thanks ... it is the inside plastic latch, window crank and lock knob. I am putting in sound deadening stuff through out the cab and need to get the door panels off. I will shoot some pix ....
Just wondering if any of you have had experience pulling off the door handle and window crank on a mid-90's M1078?
I have read posts about these and the difficulty finding replacement. I don't want to risk messing them up.
Thanks in advance.
Worth every dime to ship it!
I sure am glad I took all the good advice from this site and had the old girl shipped. Last night a little fat man with a beard delivered my late XMAS present ....
The addiction begins!
First of all .... as a newbie to the world of MV, this site is amazing. From the technical manuals to the all the information on dealing with GL auctions .. it has been invaluable.
That said, I am currently working on getting an M1078 back to eastern washington after a successful Dec 30th...
