    Two Freeze Plug Block Heaters?

Thanks to this and other threads like it. I used this for reference when putting in my zerostart 600W today and other than fishing the plug out of the block it was an interesting job and then next cold morning will not be so bad. Thanks again.

    M1009 Glow plug override switch

:ditto: and I’ve done it to mine and love having a backup in case the card dies. Just tap the light blue wire run it to the momentary switch and then the other side of the switch to ground.

    Water leaking into cab

Update, since my cowl was rusty I picked up one at the local pull-a-part. It gives me some practice on pulling one so I would not damage it. Today it was painted so I pulled my rusty one and dove on in to see what I could find. There is not much in there you can see so I had to feel around and I...

    Glow Plug Torque?

Got to ask since I searched "Glow Plug Torque" and Glowplug Torque" and only got limited results. What is the correct torque for them? Thank you in advance for any assistance.

    Water leaking into cab

I have attached is the best image I could scrounge up. There is one on each side of the cowl where the hinges attach to keep water out. I have one at work, forgot to bring it home.

    Water leaking into cab

Ok so I picked up a windshield wiper puller today and found Figure 128 in TM-9-2320-289-20P, which gives me clues on pulling the outer cowl cover to see what is what behind the scenes. Too bad, I ran out of daylight. I figured out how to hold the clip and get the wiper removed so the rest should...

    Bilsteins shocks on M1009

I just made a set like that work on an M1008 with some work by removing the pin and pressing in the bushing from the one being removed. However, if those are new I'd suggest you take them/send them back and get the ones you need. It was not an easy job to make them work. Almost forgot to...

    Water leaking into cab

Ok so add me to the list of people having this issue. So far haven’t dug into it too much because of all the dead mice (former farm truck) I’ve pulled from the easy parts of the truck to get to (left one in the intake valley because hands are too big to get to the mummy yet). But I guess it’s...

    Heater Hose Size ID/OD ?

Update all went well, I had an engine bay of antifreeze from the pinhole and the work but NAPA had both hoses and getting 4' actually provides some extra. Also purchased some hose pinchers at NAPA to minimize the spillage and they worked well. Made sure to disconnect the batteries and put a...

    Heater Hose Size ID/OD ?

Thank you, I was thinking they both were the same. Glad I asked. I'll pick up 4' of each on my way home. Now to see if I can keep the coolant loss to a minimum doing the job. Thanks again!

    Heater Hose Size ID/OD ?

Ok first I have to admit I only did a limited search since I am at work and just found this problem (leak) on my lunch break. I know from the TM's that I need between 8 and 9 feet of hose total but I cannot for the life of me find the ID or OD of the hose. The box auto part stores I have...

    Air in fuel AGAIN

Ok I have a new possibility. I just ran into this with mine. The fuel guage is off and I am out of fuel at 1/4 tank so running it that low gets air in the fuel. Make sure you fill your tank up at least above 1/2 and flush the air. Then notice when it starts to stumble and keep it above that...

First thanks for any info on my M1008 a. Serial Number (VIN number) 1GCHD34J7EF349754 b. Registration Number NG143V c. NSN 2320011275077 d. 24V Voltage Gauge resister size

I just bought an entire meter off of an auction site just to get the resistor to repair mine and my meter read 331 ohms on the damaged one and the replacement one. I was able to scrape back enough on my old one to read it with a meter.

I Finally Got My M1009 Today!

I am glad it worked for you. I got the idea from another hobby of mine (Classic VW's) where some owners swear by original paint only and will strip it down to original removing all subsequent paint jobs. And then clear coat it or wax it to a high gloss. I had seen firsthand some of their work...
