I found the same blue wire/connector disconnected on my M1008. The PO had the GP bypassed but I have been looking in the TM's all afternoon and cannot find the connector. I will have to trace it on the other side of the firewall to find out where it goes.
My M1008 is similar as to be slow until 45mph (compared to GPS) and then fast past 45mph. And just after 45mph until 50mph, it jumps. I expect it to get worse over time and eventually need to replace the cable gear or both. I have little experience with MV's thus far but with other vehicles, we...
Ok it sounds like it was just a coincidence in timing. You can try to pull the cable (push clip from behind towards seat to get it out of way to release the cable) and possibly put some lube down the shaft but by what your telling me you most likely did not cause it by just removing the first...
First a few questions... How far apart did you take it? Did you remove the speedometer?
If so did you get the cable snapped back on completely or is it lose and not seated fully?
Did you move the cable much or bend it out of the way for any reason?

Took less than 30min if you plan ahead and have everything you need.
Makes a clear and distinct click now when the starter relay engages.
At $12.94 it is cheap insurance and well worth the time and monetary cost.
Thank you Doghead and Realm...
Picked up the same "Help" item and was able to get it to work but I do see the difference in quality. Mine may have worked because I pulled the turn signal and headlight first so I did not have to remove the front battery to replace it. I got them close before replacing the headlight, which may...
For those that don't have a NAPA around or just want it delivered and not go to the store I found it on eBay for $12.94 shipped but you can also test the make an offer button and see if you can get it cheaper ;-)

I think I'm ok then since it was the entire truck and it was only slightly and the steering wasn't bad. I'm going to go out on a limb and say if I had to guess a rear tire threw a wheel weight. Thank you for the info.
Thanks. I figured tires since it was gone over 55 MPH. Since I'm away from a computer and replying on a Blackberry what are the symptoms of "Death Wobble"?
Thanks.
Picked up my first MV today. It is an 84 M1008 and was a blast to drive down the NC Mountains back home.
It was a farm vehicle on top on a mountain in NW NC since 1998 and got about 1K miles per year put on it. It is currently just over 44K miles on the odometer but I know there is no way of...
Yep that is mostly because the link is from the VINYL ENVIROMENTAL COUNCEL who by no means would want to promote Polly Vinyl Chloride. Nevertheless, I was just mentioning that that is one reason it is not recommended. In an open environment, you have little risk of it hurting you. It is a good...
Depends on the exact makeup of the PVC used but here is the boring data on it and how long it takes to kill a rat or baboon etc. I remembered it was some nasty stuff from working in high-rise facilities that do not allow it. But i had to go look it up at the link I attached to remember it was...
I like it
This is because at high temperatures such as those in the engine bay PVC can turn into Hydrogen Chloride (HCI) along with Carbon Monoxide and Carbon Dioxide.
You at least insulated it by not connecting the PVC directly to the air cleaner and have it a reasonable distance from the...
