I'm curious how long that little adventure took. It sounds like you were definitely detained. What was their probable cause? I would've thought a quick check of registration, license & insurance would be enough to demonstrate the absence of any problem.
This story is a great example of why...
Hey, Mike Pop - those Firestones you have on your M101, what model are they? You're running tubes & flaps, right? Can you slap any 16" radial on? I've been contemplating what to do with my trailer, and I really like your solution. I'm interested in a street-friendly, low-cost tire/tube combo for...
What do you intend to do with your trailer? Will it be a home utility trailer, always pulled behind your civvy truck(s)? Or will you be getting a deuce, CUCV, etc.?
By way of example, I don't anticipate that I'll have a mil truck anytime in the foreseeable future, and I want the trailer for...
How about "those guys" can fly, since the X-1 & B29 had different pilots. That was awesome. How much spare time and money does it take to be able to do that, I wonder?
I think we're going to Scranton, but not by the 19th. We'd be up there the following weekend. Do you know what shape the trailer is in? I'd have to haul it 2.5 hours (at highway speed - longer for towing) down to York, and I don't want to haul a dicey trailer. I only have a Jeep Cherokee, so...
Dang, that tire is about as big as she is! That's just awesome. A job so ridiculously dirty and difficult it's just funny. Hope the truck got clean alright.
Hey, that's awesome. I'm in York, too, and I also have an M101 I got from Chambersburg. I haven't got it legal yet, so I'd be happy to have you PM or email me your advice. I've neither the room, the time, nor the money for a deuce, but I'd probably like having one. If I see you around town...
I won't be running 24v.
I like the Gamma Goat lamps. I found some cheap generic trailer lights that look about the same from a distance, and they bolt right in, so that's what I'm putting on. Not sure where to find the GG fixtures, and I'm pretty sure they're not in the budget this year...
I'm thinking about what to do with the lights on my M101 trailer. I want it to be a functional work trailer, without hacking or losing too much of the military accessories. My trailer has the older light fixtures, with the smaller main red light in back. I've thought about keeping these...
Given that this has happened in two states now, folks elsewhere should take more than a passing interest. It doesn't seem out of line to expect this to pop up more. Perhaps we should lay the groundwork to prepare similar legislative efforts in all our home states? The Kansas model seemed to be...
I love this thread. In my dreams, I have a deuce bobbed with 5-ton axles to maintain load carrying capacity and handle more power. Keep up the informative posts, I'm learning.
Here's another thought on lobbying.
You will get a generic form letter when you write your Representative or Senator. Your letter/email/fax will get the most cursory look from an intern, who looks up some relevant manner of shooting down your suggested action.
Establish a relationship with...
Re: RE: Govliquidation Registered Letter
PLEASE get a scan of this letter, and post it somewhere where we can read it!
Filing an EUC on a stupid old trailer is just an annoyance, but requiring vehicles to be destroyed is quite another thing. It's frankly unjustifiable.
