I banged the lunette eye out of the drawbar. Should there be lubrication on the shaft of the lunette to keep it clean, rust-free, and non-binding? What should be used?
I couldn't find anything about this in the M101a2 manual. Thanks,
B
Oh, you said LEGALLY. ;)
M105 should fit on a car hauler. The width is a bit over 6', but the axle is a bit less. They weigh a bit over a ton, empty. Okay, so I lack precision. The track width is 57" and the empty weight is 2,500 lbs. That's a bit more precise. ;)
doghead - I had a friend in high school whose dog was called "doghead"
Those are two VERY nice trailers - straight, clean, with tops. Mine's decent, but nothing like those.
I would like to help, as I live only an hour away from Chambersburg (to the east), but I'm afraid this is more than my Jeep Cherokee can tow. I can handle an M101 trailer no problem, but these are heavier, and since I couldn't even think about doing tandem, it would take me two trips.

I know these things aren't as common as the m101s & m105s, so if anybody's looking, here it is. I'd love to have one, but it needs too much work for me. I have my hands full with my M101a1.
By the way, MD Pax River is...
GL has a BUNCH of M105s coming up at the Chambersburg PA location. FYI. Also Ft. Dix, also Lejuene. Chambersburg also has a bunch of M332s and a few M101s. Seems like with this quantity coming available, they ought to go for reasonable prices.
Chambersburg is fairly close to me, and I might be...
Here's another problem I'm running into with my M101a1: the front top bow, left side is STUCK. I can't pound it out, it doesn't budge. I tried bracing up a bottle jack under it and jacking it out - that worked on the right side just fine, but no go on the left. Screws through the wood & metal...
Thanks for the tips. I haven't found a 1.5" socket in half-inch drive yet - I'm probably not looking in the right places. I do have a 1.5" box-end wrench (trailer ball wrench), but there is just a little too little clearance between the hub & lug nuts for that.
Another hangup is the screws. I...
What do y'all recommend for tools to disassemble/repair my M101a1, particularly the lug nuts? I'm just getting started with this, and there's a lot of frozen nuts/screws/joints on this old trailer.
Thanks,
Brian
Garbee, thanks for the guidance. PA is much the same - you MUST have a title in order to register. I was actually behind a guy in line at Tractor Supply who bought a trailer there, and he had the PA title paperwork in his hand at the register. Like I said, PA is a pain.
By the way, I have your...
I just talked to the PA DMV - man, are they difficult. They say I need to go through a court process for an "involuntary transfer of ownership." ??? If anybody else in PA has gone through the process of getting a title for a MV, I'd appreciate some tips and assistance.
To get the SF97, I need...
Does anyone know what the amount of wheel travel is on an M101:A1 trailer? I'm thinking of doing a spring-under conversion to make the trailer a little more street-friendly.
