well, not so fast... the injection pump is leaking again in the same place it was....aua.... Looks like this weekend will be me pulling the covers and making new gaskets.
Just an FYI, the drain cocks on my truck are 1/4" NPT, not the 1/8"? Not sure if this is true for all of the Deuces but it...
Definitely not new, it just has a fairly fresh coat of paint. It is rougher in person than it looks in the pics. It does have 18,500 miles and around 400 hours on it.
Only had the Deuce about a month, as I get to know her better & better I venture out further. Ran down to the local Home Depot Sunday, didn't really need anything I just love Home Depot. Only about an hour drive round trip but it's further than I've gone yet.
After much frustration, I got my leaks fixed. I used 2 different drains for the bottom of the fuel filter canister and 1 plug and it was still leaking. I finally decided there had to be more to it, I removed the canister and found a torn o-ring in the groove of the fuel filter manifold. After...
That's what I needed, good news. I will be on it tonight after work. One thought, I am guessing this is the lower pressure side of the pump? How much preassure is on the high pressure side?
I have just finished changing the oil an fuel filters recently, before I changed these the truck was starting and running perfect. Now, afterwards it takes a few tries to start it and keep it running. Once it is going... no problem. Just thinking logical I was guessing it may have had a small...
Here are some of the pictures as it was when I picked it up. I post these for 2 reasons.
1) I want to show off my new toy and have something to compare against as I make parts and make improvements.
&2) I love for some of you guys to chime in if you can tell me what MV dealer these pictures...
Thanks guys for the complements, the old girl is pretty nice but as Bonedoc said, my list of all the small things I want to do is growing longer and longer before it is getting shorter. I have been chipping away at my list of all the small things I have on my list. As many oF you already know...
Out of town last weekend so I have collected a pile of goodies for the Deuce. This will be my work for the weekend... and maybe on into the week a little. In addition to what is in the picture I also have all new wood & nuts & bolts for the troop seats. The last thing i have coming is i...
This is an interesting idea, I have a CAT dealer pretty close to me. Is this a test they Do or a test kit I take home and do myself somehow? Also, is this something you suggest just as a precautionary measure to see if there any problems to be aware of or are there common problems with these...
I thought since I have now bought my first MV, my 1968 Kaiser M35A2 Deuce and a half I would start a tread that I can post all of my mods and or work to instead of having several threads for one truck. Any time I get a new toy I can not ever leave well enough alone. I am sure this will be no...
Welcome to the site from White House, TN.... just about 30 min. From you. For the short time I have been here, the guys have been very helpful and welcoming.
Good to see someone so close to me, I am just about 15 min up the road from you.
I think you are correct about the color, the info I have on the truck so far is that it was referbed @ Toole in 1990 and then gone thru again by a company in CA in 2008 from where the owner I bought it from got it. Since late 2008 it was shipped to the St. Louis, MO area we here it has had 4...
I would love to be at the rally but unfortunately way before the truck was in the picture I had a Florida Vacation Scheduled for that week. I will plan on next year or maybe another one if there is another one close.
On a happier note, I brought it home from my buddies house that made the trip...
I was just going thru the paper work, Initially the truck was advertised as a "1973 M35A2", I don't really think it makes much difference but I just discovered that it is really a "1968 Kaiser, M35A2". For those way more, well versed than myself.... good? .... Bad? .... Same difference?
