This is a first for many things for me - first military vehicle, first diesel, first time working on automatic transmissions. I picked up the vehicle from a fellow SS member and it test drove okay but the trip home through the mountains brought on the below...
Changed my glow plug relay and battery terminal connectors to marine type with wingnut. Still diagnosing my intermittent starting issue where it does not like to start when I have run it and let it sit for about an hour. Transmission shuddering and non-shift to 3rd will be after that. Oh boy!
Having a similar issue and was looking for the correct area in the TM. I think I found it in TM TM9-2320-289-20 Unit maintenance manual for all variants CUCV.pdf starting on page 2-62 of manual (page 111 of .pdf).
I went ahead and ordered replacement glow plug and starter relays from CUCV...
Well I just bought mine and spent a bunch of time looking between auctions and classified. I would guess around $4,500 asking if all is in good working order above what I can see from pics. I wouldn't sell it though!
