I saw a couple of modified old antenna trailers this weekend at a HAM Field Day that had pretty impressive military crank up triangle towers. One of those antenna trailers with a truck full of green radios would be fun.
Thus the interest in the trailers you saw.
Thanks,

BTW, salt6, there are two unused wires in the M101A1 trailer wiring harness that I used to bring 24VDC into the bed of the trailer for a dome or map light with a receptacle mounted in the front panel.
That might be something you want to think about too. It is an easy mod.

Do you have any pictures of the trailers or details of how they were set up? Do you know which antenna(s) they mounted? More details would be nice.
Thanks,
Storm 51
I'll try to get a couple of pictures of the mount. It keeps the tire close to the front panel of the trailer. It is basically a A frame with a couple of wheel studs.

I mounted 2 on the front of my M101A1. I've attached a couple of pics. Also put a pioneer tool rack on the back and a spare tire on the front in the middle. I'll put Hi-Lift jacks over the fenders.

They are not his vehicles. He just does what he is told. Both the blue truck and the Carryall have HUGE engines in them and custom interiors. Gary will do whatever you want. He likes restoring them to stock configuration, but he makes his living at this. He's been restoring and customizing cars...
I've had the truck for 32 years (it's actually a M-42). I could start adding up the receipts to come up with a number if you're serious, but I've never had the courage to do that yet. My wife doesn't want to even think about adding it up.
But, on the brighter side, I do have almost all the...
Here's a couple of pictures of my truck next to the blue truck at a Chrysler show a couple of weeks ago. The same guy, Gary Wirth did both trucks (at the same time in his shop).
The red and silver one is a WC-53 he did a few years ago.
Gary does VERY nice work. [thumbzup] [thumbzup]

Welcome to Steel Soldiers Brian! The best place for you trailer questions is the Trailer Forum a little further down the page. Trailers are kind of a blank slate and lots of people have done lots of different things with them. You will also find lots of photos.
Good luck with your project...
Yes, there is a swing open gate above the tail gate. I think you might also have fiberglass in the railing above the front of the bed. Originally the M101 and the M101A1's had oak railings all the way around. It looks like your side rails are still wood. I can't tell if they are oak though...
Those handcarts are cool, but not $1500 cool to me. Wow, I had no idea! I'll keep my eyes out for one but I don't imagine I'll ever even see one up here in the Pacific NW.
Still a cool little toy though! [thumbzup]

Man, your collection looks great! You've done a very nice job on those vehicles. I'm sure your M-37 is going to turn out impressive too.
Where did you find the hand cart? Those are so cool. I'd love to have one of those. Where do you look for those? Not something I'd expect to find mixed in...
Now here are some of the "AFTER" pictures that were taken last winter and last weekend at a car show. The show was mostly for Hot Rods (Chrysler Products) and they wanted the M-37 for contrast with the blue truck next to it, which is also an M-37 (well, sort of, or was anyway....).
Still have...
O.K., here's one more but I don't know if it really qualifies. I've had it 32 years and this is it's second restoration, so it really wasn't a total rust bucket this time and pretty much everything was there.
So, you guys get to be the judges.
The first group of photos are "BEFORE" pictures.
Well, you certainly did a beautiful job on the interior of that shelter.
Congratulations!
If you do stumble across another S-89 shelter could you please PM me? Out here on the west coast they simply don't exist. I'd really love to have one (it would have a good home).
Thanks, and...
