    Heating a S280

Sensible use to me would mean not sleeping while in use.

    Heating a S280

Even those with common sense make mistakes and have accidents. One mistake or accident is all it takes to wake up dead usng anything within an enclosed space that may deplete oxygen levels while you are sleeping.

    M989 Trailer to camper project

I got under the trailer today for the first time. I was surprised to find the brakes have not been caged. So it's looking like this project may turn into an M989 brake thread along the way. I also learned the front left spring brake canister mount is broke off from the axle housing. The...

    M989 Trailer to camper project

I seen what looks to be a good candidate on an RV wreck while inspecting the trailer today. Any fold down sunshade experts that can tell me what to look for when selecting one? Are they all the same?

    Heating a S280

You're going to have alot of data points across the spectrum of folks within the population. From "wouldn't have it to begin with" to "turn it off religously" to "may remember to turn it off if I don't party too hard that night" etc.

    Heating a S280

Even with a redundant carbon monoxide and low oxygen detection systems I still don't think I would be brave enough to have any ventless heater that produced carbon monoxide inside a shelter. Outdoor convection type blowing fresh heated air inside would be my choice.

    Heating a S280

Also known as a dutch oven. I have been told from an actual homeless person in MI that wrapping up in 15 blankets is the magic number for staying warm in a shelter with no heat on the coldest of days.

M931 a1 Rear Brakes Locking Up

Electrical engineer here who HAS had problems with the failsafe box and designed the circuit below for those who would like to build their own rather than buy a new one. If there is still a question as to whether the box is bad you can be certain by disconnecting wire 584 from PIN I and...

M931 a1 Rear Brakes Locking Up

The failsafe box is bad. It is not uncommon to have partial good & bad functionality in circuits such as this. One section of the buzzer circuit has failed. Safety warning circuits are purposefully designed to give a false warning when there is a failure within them. This is so that a failure...

    M989 Trailer to camper project

Great question. I did not cage the trailer brakes and am only asumming they are caged at this point. The fellow we purchased the truck & trailer from said he never bothered connecting the air lines to the tow vehicle since he never put a load on it. The passenger side air line, which I...

    M989 Trailer to camper project

I was thinking of using a DC to 120VAC inverter for running a small A/C or microwave. Haven't dug into this enough to know if it's possible/practical yet. Sharing power with the 24V tow vehicle is the reason I was thinking a 24V system.

Great idea, with the obligatory camping lights (low voltage of course)!

    M989 Trailer to camper project

Very nice, thank you for your efforts and ideas! We like the fold down table idea, don't always need a table, and it free's up floor space when not in use. We are leaning toward putting an S-280 shelter in the trailer which leaves room for a golf cart. After having a napkin & pencil...

    M989 Trailer to camper project

gimpyrobb had the same the idea which appeals to us because it is military. 5' x 8' of extra deck space would be workable I think. A typical golf cart is 4' x 8' which is all we would need for secondary transportation.

    Not a bad idea!

    M989 Trailer to camper project

Very nice! That low deck gives you plenty of room for a second floor which adds a lot of floor space. As a matter of fact I built storage barns for a living for a few years when I was younger. That kind of work is more up my alley than moving axles that's for sure. We need to talk about...

The data plates have been painted over so bad you can not make anything out.

The deck is 17' - 4" long by 8' - 0" wide. The wife will not consider removing the seats from the rear of the 931, appreciate the offer though.
