    M1009 with 15k miles won't start

Help!!!! With c3bosco's help used an attachment to air compressor that sucks. First the fine going into the filter. Then the line going out of the fuel filter. Did you know that diesel vapor really hangs in the air? But when we turned it over the new fuel pump was not pumping. All because I put...

    Quick question about my m1009

The windows are most likely like the key that came with my truck from Ace Hardware. The truck was in a National Gaurd unit. when they needed a key they just went down the road and got one. The windows got broke so they went down the road and got one. "Forms what forms sir? The truck has windows...

    I'm nervous

Prepare for the worst, hope for the best, and take what comes. Being in Houston nothing is near enough to go check out. I used a transport company to get both of my trucks. If you by a truck and something is wrong then you post about it. But if the truck starts right up and drives like a gem...

    M1009 with 15k miles won't start

I just need to get fuel in the lines. My wife's car has a @^&$ computer that will not let it pass the emissions test. It runs fine but the computer says "not ready." I have done everything I just have to drive it now so the computer will reset. But I do not have an inspection sticker to drive...

The driver's side alternator grounds to the engine with a little black wire. The pasanger alternator the ground on mine goes into the wires that are bundled and I did not see where after that.

    lack of power

If there is smoke coming out of the oil when it warms up then it is blow-by. Use something like lucas in your oil to keep everything clean. When it gets too bad you have to pull the engine and replace the rings. I just did it and there are worse things but keeping it runng is much easier.

    lack of power

just look at the pink and green or blue wires. you will see a rubber fuel line attached to the top of the IP. Remove the fuel line (it is the fuel return line) pliers for the clamp. Then I forget what size but a deep well metric socket or wrench and take the nipple that the fuel return line was...

    So how important are these?

I just know without the frames and bolts brake when you are having fun. Normal driving on the street is no big deal. When I asked about spacers on a truck the redneck answer I got was, "I ain't tak'n em off my truck, if you take em off I will be laugh'n at you real soon."

    Coolant filter in CUCV

Find a radiator repair shop! they may even have on i stock for you. I had to replace the one in my wife's car with the oil cooler and trans cooler built in. Auto parts store over $200. Found a radiator repair shop and got one for around $70. If they do noot have one like yours they can fix it...

    Under dash Air Conditioning System

I heard the OD Iron is very simple except for the compressor bracket. You could do everything else and the recruit some help if you need it. Then take it to an a/c shop to put a vacume on it and add the freon. Unless you like spending money.

    Tailgate wirerope spring?

It is the little spring that is such a pain. I can get the left but not the right. The right one ise the one that is broke and my other M1009 does not even have a right cable at all. What a little annoying piece. If the cable did not stick out when the tailgate is closed I would not care at all.

    Tailgate wirerope spring?

Did you get the cables with the spings or were they seperate items?

    So how important are these?

Yeah mine are on top too. So it holds the crossmamber firmly to the frame. But when cross preasure is applied like when the trans twists because of torque, then the bolts can move slighty above the frame and keep the crossmember tight against the frame.

    Tailgate wirerope spring?

I checked the LMC catalog and called them. They only have the tailgate support spring for the left side even for the Suburban. Would anyone else have it or do I take a day and cuise the junkyards? Would stealer, I mean dealer still have it?
  17. 3dubs

    So how important are these?

Removing the spacer and using a shorter bolt will cause the frame or the bolt to crack and fail. The trans moves and there needs to be flex to prevent someting from braking. It is a spacer so the part should be easy to get. If you really want to make one get steel pipe with the same internal...

    Tailgate wirerope spring?

The civi blazer only had a wire rope on the left side. The M1009 also has one on the right. The only part that does not seem to fit both sides is the spring. My right wire rope sticks out when I close the tailgate. Does anybody know if any civi truck had the wire rope on both sides? Can I make...

    Civilian pump to CUCV?

There is a number after DB2 that shows how it is set up. The civi is plobably set at a lower fuel rate, But the CUCV use the heavy duty. If the truck's vin has a j designation it is a J block or heavy duty. A Suburban is most likely a J but check it.

    street legal

It depends on the the state. in Texas you just have to put plates on. The back one is a pain in the back end. it also depends on the condition of the vehicle. But they have all the lights and seat belts that are on the civi version just a few extra.
