In a container you can take your time. You just can't flip it over when working on the bottom. I was told you can start the engine in the container. Then you could see if it needs anything. If it runs good you can just add the turbo. When it is out I would put a girdle on the bottom for longer...
This is the girdle. If you want to leave the engine in you will have to lift the engine. I read the TM for removing the oil pan and you have to lift the engine to get it off. So maybe you can do it. Call them and ask.
I just put on a Wix 2qt filter. Not sure about the exhaust pipe. But I just rebuilt the engine and need to filter out anything that fell in the engine. But if it does not get too hot I will put another on. Has anoyone used a 2qt filter?
I am about to search but I wanted to know if I could put a vacume on the bleeder on the fuel filter and just suck the fuel through the system. I just do not want to kill the batteries before the fuel even gets to the engine.
He was not working on his MV under the influence. He was working on mine. Stuff stopped getting broke when he helped. I guess that was my problem. I may not have shorted the wire if I had a few more. I just need to add that to the TM.
We have FIRE! Well a lot of smoke! I hooked up the batteries and smoke came rolling out from around the front battery and the whole side. I had not clamped the ground just put it on the battery to turn the engine over so I ran over to pull it off. I ran into a cinder block with my shin and did...
Well c3bosco came over drank up all the beer and margaritas. Got the bobcat running and caught a chicken. Why he caught the chicken well I think the magaritas had something to do with it. I started dropping the engine in bent one injector line and ripped the wires out of the fuel filter bracket...
Do not save money on new body parts. You get what you pay for. If it is cheap then it may not fit without modifications that might be a bigger pain than starting with a flat piece sheet metal! If you want to save money go to a junk yard. Do some research and find what body parts wil interchange...
The engine is sitting on an engine stand. I broke it down replaced the rings and rod bearings. I added a main cap stud girdle for strength. I put a rebuilt injection pump on. A new fuel pump because I could get to it. The engine is back together just getting everthing together before dropping it...
I also found out there are two specs for torquing down the heads. One for plain grade eight bolts and one for head bolts. The head bolts have stuff on the threads and just under the head. Because of that the plain bolts go to 100 ft lbs, but head bolts go to fifty ft lbs and then a quarter turn...
I guess I will save my core and rebuild it myself. I want one sitting on the shelf anyway. I was thinking of mixing WMO with diesel. I heard IO and injector problems may happen. So an extra IP and a ultrasonic cleaner for the injectors.
If the IP goes out before I mix WMO I will post it. But...
Do not forget about the rear drive shaft. The front you can unlock the hubs. But the rear turns the gears. So you will need to disconect the u-joint and tie the drive shaft up so it does not drag.
Figured it had some kind of lock. I did not know the island did not get the same winters. But I have been stuck way out and had to hike out. It sucked! But I needed two trucks to get me out. Four wheel drive means I get stuck real good:roll: If you need help getting really stuck let me know:-D
It is from a shop in Tenessee. They are on Ebay and their website www.dieselcare.net They seem like great people. They sell at wholesale rates and they 6.2/6.5 parts.
Looks great. But remember a theif takes things he can sell. Tools are always easy to sell. But they make locks for the jack and something for axe and shovel would not be hard to figure out. But getting out in your winter can be dangerous by itself if you are not prepared. I see you are very...
Aluminum is good but if I was making the first one of many I would use steel. Steel is much more forgiving. I was thinking of designing one that locks and has fold up cup holders. It is hot in Houston and an ice cold drink sure is nice!
