Well the rank thing, I only care about the pay. Since it doubles my pay with each rank I was excited. the I realized the the base pay was nothing and doubling that gets me nothing:deadhorse:
I just have the GL pic on my avitar. How cheesy. I guess I need a new one.
You can change the seat out to civi seats. I plan to go to an upholstery shop and get the seats recovered. I was thinking about a metal box like a console and paint it with green CARC. My two cents.
I may be old school but I put talking about avitars with long walks on the beach and teddy bears. Keep your teddy bears and beaches on your avitar and it is cool with me. The thread about a Suburban was ok but the avitar? I guess we all have our thing and the cool thing is that we can all vent...
If you can get to the main cap studs with a torque wrench then you can put it on. It was about $160 plus shipping. It is from Canada so the price changes with the currency exchange. But they charged me in US Dollars so there no extra fee from my credit card. It ties the three middle caps...
Yes it is torn down. Only found black carbon behind the second ring on a couple pistons. But no real damage. I was worried about a trip to a machine shop but it is not bad at all. I am just replacing the rings because I have new ones. But the engine was running just very weak and when it warmed...
My wipers do not work and I was going to take care of that after it is running. If you do not have a multimeter get one. Check the TM for what voltage should be coming out of the switch. Test at the motor or the wires coming out of the switch. As I have not looke at mine yet I can give details...
I was going to change the fuel pump before I saw the smoke. Since I had it and I saw what a pain it was to change in the truck I put the new one on right away. I saw the colors on the bearings but had no idea what they were. I just did one piston at a time and put things back where I found them...
I hone each cylinder as I replace the rings. I always do when the piston comes out. If they are the same TM's here I have them on my laptop to check all the tolerences. The crank is at factory specs but some of the bearings showed some wear. I am thinking the odometer has rolled over so It would...
Thanks, none of the rings are broken. I think some of the carbon build up fell into the cylinders. I could most likely have cleaned the rings and they would have been fine. But there way too much blow-by because the oil was smoking. Does the CDRV have an adjustment or is it just replaced? I am...
Yeah, I have been checking everything. I have all new bearings and a new rear main seal. There was oil leaking out of the rear of the engine did not know if it was the oil pan gasket or rear main seal. So replace them both. I am also replacing the fuel pump. It is real easy to get to when the...
I have my engine out thanks to GL and starter fluid. I have an main cap stud girdle to strengthen the bottom end. What else is good to do when you have the engine out?
I cleaned the valve thing on top of the IP and it was better. But it would start but as soon as it wrmed up it would stop and not want to start again. I finally started it cold and got out and looked at the engine. I had seen smoke figured with all the stuff on the engine no big deal. But when I...
Some states only allow black or grey tinting, colors may not be allowed. A wrap company could match your camo and not just OD. After I paint my truck I plan to get some. Not only will they look cool, they will keep the truck cooler in the sun.
Buying from an individual or GL? I would look through the threads and read. It depends on what you plan on using it for what CUCV you want. That is a simple question with a long answer. But good luck.
The M1009 can go faster but over 60MPH your fuel milage drops. You will get about 20 MPG if you do not go over 60. That is what I have been told, because neither of mine run:cry:
NDT gave some great advice "Here is the Texas law: Google "Registration and Title Bulletin #052-07" and print out "attachment 1". Clearly states vehicles bought at gov't auction with SF 97's are exempt from the penalty. I have a copy with me every trip to the tax office to settle any disputes...
I have two and neither run. The first had a bent frame the second they used starter fluid and I am pulling the engine now. If you need something let me know. I do not mind helping if I can. At least yours is not in the cold so they do not use starter fluid.
- The auction closed and I was the...
