    Anybody seen Hoot_223 ?

Well, hopefully he has two, then.

    Anybody seen Hoot_223 ?

That's odd, I bought the injection pump. It's been quite some time now, and he says it's going to be coming, he seems apologetic, but now I'm quite worried.

    another starting question

Ok, well here are some temperature sensors, anybody know if one of them is the right one? http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDetail.aspx?MfrCode=BOR&MfrPartNumber=WT364&PartType=425&PTSet=A http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDetail.aspx?MfrCode=BOR&MfrPartNumber=WT679&PartType=290&PTSet=A...

    another starting question

So is there just one temperature sensor that sends the signal to all the various cold functions (fast idle, cold advance and glow plugs)? If so, does anyone have the part number? There are a couple of different "coolant temperature sensor" parts listed in various places around the 'net.

    another starting question

There's something else in the circuit. I haven't yet figured out what it is, but the relay can click without the plugs going on. I verified this (I think) today when I wired a manual glow plug switch, tested it with the truck hot, relay clicked, but the glow plugs didn't come on as verified by...

    Tire pressure

RE: tire pressure I too have wondered where the TP 45 on the fronts came from. It doesn't seem to match up to anything. A few statements: -The maximum safe pressure on the sidewall is just that- maximum safe pressure. No more, no less. It has nothing to do with what pressure you should run...

Nearing end of CUCV GL availability?

The price guides can't really account for all the factors involved with a car like the Miata- the racing pressures are one factor, but the nature of a 20 year old car with low mileage just doesn't fit with their appraisal algorithms. As for Spec Miata specifically, they want a relatively...

Nearing end of CUCV GL availability?

I'm sure the prices will increase as the supply decreases, but I think it'll depend what you're looking for. I'd bet that dented, dinged, scratched up, used for work deuces and CUCVs won't increase in price that much, especially CUCVs. Original, low-mileage, shined up for parades type trucks...

Nearing end of CUCV GL availability?

Oh, I know they're getting replaced by FMTVs and LMTVs, which will presumably follow the path of the deuce through service life extensions, rebuilds and the like. I'm just saying that they'll likely eventually reach surplus (even if it takes a couple decades), and that it would seem unlikely...

Nearing end of CUCV GL availability?

Weren't those deuces replaced with something? I mean, I never underestimate the ability of those in power to do stupid, stupid things, but something tells me that the Guard and other branches of the service aren't just selling off all their vehicles and becoming immobile.

    DOT 5

RE: Re: RE: DOT 5 Sure, it's more expensive, but when I decide to bleed the brakes or whatever on a Saturday morning, I don't have the time to sit around waiting for something to show up, I can just go out and buy it. Sure, it's cheaper to order it, especially for large amounts, but I just...

Nearing end of CUCV GL availability?

Anything can be found for the right price if you know where to look. Right now, I could buy any one of several CUCVs, in running condition. I *chose* to buy mine second-hand, because then I didn't have to deal with dragging it home and seeing what was wrong with it, I could test drive it and...

Nearing end of CUCV GL availability?

So what? Even if they stopped releasing them, it's not like there aren't plenty of them second, third, fourth and fifth hand floating around. Between local and state governments and various other departments, and private buyers selling them off- it's not like CUCVs are rare or hard to come by...

    DOT 5

My local AutoZone, Advance Auto Parts, NAPA and CarQuest all carry it in various sizes, up to about a quart. Haven't checked Pep Boys.

    Gear ratio for M1008.

Well, sometime when I get around to it, I'll see if the patterns are the same, and I'll be sure to get the info up here.

M1008 Diesel Gas Cap - Want Locking Gas Cap

Re: RE: M1008 Diesel Gas Cap - Want Locking Gas Cap I'd concur with this. A couple screws to mount a couple of eyes and a padlock would do the trick. Plus, it'd look way more hardcore.

    Gear ratio for M1008.

I know that I don't want a 4L60E (or, for that matter, any "E" transmission), I'm just trying to find out whether the readily available 700R4s out of, say, 2.8V6 S-10s and Camaros will bolt up. I've got at least two sitting around, but they're a state away at the moment- just want to know if the...

    Gear ratio for M1008.

It's the 2.8L V6 that I'm thinking of, there are lots of them in junkyards with 700R4s attached to them. I'm just not sure of the bolt pattern. Don't most of the 4.3L cars/trucks have the 4L60E?

    Gear ratio for M1008.

So the smallblock and big block use the same bolt pattern? Do you know if it's the same as the V6 bolt pattern?

    Gear ratio for M1008.

Speaking of 700R4s, what bolt pattern does the 6.2 use to mount to the transmission? Is it the smallblock pattern? The 4cyl/V6 pattern? Big block pattern? I'm pretty sure there were a few differences in the bellhousings but I'm not all that familiar with them as I've only uninstalled, rebuilt...
