I would love to come but I don't think she's quite street legal yet. Besides, If I don't get her out of the garage soon, I'm going to be sleeping in her:roll:
I'm planning on using my air sprayer. I contacted Army Jeep Parts about the Gillespie Coatings Inc. AJP WWII SEMI-GLOSS. They recommend 3 coats or about 4 gallons at $34 a gal. I also contacted Sherwin Williams about their genesis line of OD green, they want $360 a gal.:twisted...
If anybody is interested, there will be a military vehicle show at the 22nd annual Armed Forced Day Celebration at the Hancock County Fairgrounds in Findlay, Ohio. The date is May 15,16 and 17.

Got any pictures?:-P Where did you pick it up at and what made you turn green?
I got involved in a group of people that like to play soldier. ;-)
Maybe we can get together some time. :-D
Only when my Son said, "You should have got the one with the plow dad." Sorry, I was too focused on the task at hand.
Sarah and ... can't remember his name were very helpful. They gave me a jump and I was on my way.:-D
A successful recovery.
My Son and I left home at 2:25am this morning and made it to Ft. Meade shortly after 9:00, a little over 400 miles:driver:. Our appointment wasn’t with GL until 11:00 so we killed some time by doing preventative maintenance on our transportation/tow vehicle. I came...
I have a key and two batteries from my boat. I'm also taking tools, torch, jack, tow bar, oil, chains, new fuel filter, diesel fuel ....... you get the idea. One way or the other it's coming home.
Thanks for the advice.
P.S. It's in Maryland.
I just wanted to thank everybody here at Steel Soldiers for their help. I bought my first CUCV back in December from GL and the information and suggestions have been invaluable.
I'm leaving tomorrow morning for the 400 mile trip to pick her up. I hope things go well and I'll post details of my...
Galion, small world. I'll have to come over some time and check out your deuce. Looks nice. What do you do with her? I joined the NWODF recently. That's what got me started.:-D
I'm getting a quote on having it hauled. That way I have all options available.
Thanks
Driving it home may be my best option. Any advice on what I should be looking for? I'm a mechanical engineer so checking it out isn't a problem if I know what to look for. I don't have much experience with diesels.
I have over 400+ miles to go so I'd have to disconnecting the drive shafts according to different post on the board. Besides, that's not the problem as much as the cost of the hitch and building the tow bar, gas and a hotel. Not to mention taking a day off work.
I just got off the phone with...
Hi all. I’m new to the board. I just bought an “86” M1028 from GL which brought me here. I’ve already learned a lot reading different posts in trying to figure out how to get it from MD to Ohio.
I’m not sure yet what to do. I have a 1500 Dodge Ram I could flat tow it with but I’d need a...
