Ive looked through this site for info and haven't had much luck yet. But what i'm needing is a set of injectors for an 85 1008. Would i be better off to take mine to the local diesel service shop and have them checked and reworked or would i be better off to buy new ones. Also, does anyone know...
I'm only 2 hours west of Redstone. If you'll be traveling on Hwy 72 then you'll be only 2 miles from my shop. I don't mind to PM my cell number to you in case you have trouble when coming through this part of MS. Also, if you decide you don't want the 1008, I'd prbly give you youre money back on...
I agree with KsM715. A few phone calls ahead of time by the right people should get it worked out to store them at the P.D. Never leave them in the hotel. Your stuff will be pilfered through. Get caught with them at the Arsenal and it won't matter if your a Sheriff, your family won't see...
Be sure to remove ALL weapons from your vehicle. It WILL be searched inside and out even from underneath. The last time i was on the Arsenal they even put a dog through my truck. The guys and dogs at the gate don't play. It's not the place to remember the snub nose in the console.
I've never had a brake caliper "stick". Most of the time runout on the rotor will open the caliper back up. If you let go of the steering wheel and the caliper is frozen up it will pull hard to that side. The brake hose is old as dirt anyway, so pinch it shut with vicegrips and drive it a ways...
1985 1008 CUCV. The left blinker indicator in the dash burns constant whenever the headlights or parking lights are on. When the headlights are off, the light goes off. Both blinkers work fine either way. The headlights and parking lights as well as all the rear lights work just fine. Any idea...
I researched old threads and all but came up short. My 85 cucv has very good power steering although when you turn the steering wheel you'll hear the sound of fluid under pressure. It's not a squeeling sound at all. More like a hissing sound. My other cucv does not do this at all. Any idea what...
The droning noise can be stopped. The civilian 6.2 came with a muffler looking plastic thing attached to the air cleaner base that ran all the way over to the passenger fender. This not only quiet's the droning intake noise but also let's the 6.2 breath cool air. Just go to your local salvage...
I'm gonna go to an electric fuel pump for my m1008 and wondered if anyone knew what the supply pressure should be for the 6.2 ? Another cucv i have has an electric pump on it, but it was already installed before i bought it and i don't know what capacity it is or where the best place is to...
I bought another yesterday. It's an 85 model in real good condition. Needs only minor repairs but otherwise a very solid truck. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=135724&stc=1&d=1249052941
The wheels were built for the military after 9/11. They are a two piece aluminum with a heavey rubber insert between the two wheel halves, thus pinching both inner and outer bead. 16 inch diameter,8 lug, with very little offset. I'll try to load a picture.
86 cucv. short on front battery seeming to be coming from drivers side alternater. drains the battery but not the rear one. you can unhook the drivers alt. an the short dissappers. is it the alt. or some where in the wiring.
