    It's just a small rubber vaccum line. Any auto parts stores will have it. There are two sizes on youre 09. Best to snip off a small piece to carry with you. Very inexpencive fix.

    To my knowledge there should'nt be any fuel hit the ground. If so, you've got a leak letting air come into the system. May someone else will chim in and give some more info.

    I've had the same thing happen to a civy 6.2 a few years back. It was the head gasket around #8 cylinder. Be sure to have youre heads re-surfaced and check the valves before you put em' back on.

    I've got a buddy that says that the Government had General Motors add Nickel when casting the engine blocks for the Military 6.2's inorder to increase the hardness of the block thus increasing durability.     M1009 starter/electrical issues

    If your batteries are wired positive to positive, it's 12 volts to the starter. If it's positive to negative, it's 24 volts to the starter. And yes, 24 volts to a 12 volt starter will make smoke.

    I'm not sure about this but I think the 6.2 may have forged pistons. If so, the cold start rattle is about normal.

    Next time you have it idling, give it some throttle and see if the alt light will go off.
