Are you advocating to break the law and then just say too bad if your car is low to the ground and the light bothers you? It does not sound funny to me. FYI- 100 watt low beams are in violation of the DOT motor vehicle laws.
As long as the fluid level is good- I have found that pump noise usually means that it is starting to fail. Now that noisy pump will likely run a very, very long time before it actually fails to the point it does not function.
This kind of pump is used to replace the mechanical lift pump. Most only do this if the mechanical pump has failed. There would be no benefit of adding another inline pump to the existing system. The fuel system is low pressure and fairly low flow. If my lift pump failed I would try a...
The heater came with two wires attached and no plug, so I spliced the plug end from the old filter base. I don't know about the water sensor, here is a spec sheet that may help:

The 400R series Racor has an optional heater in both 12v and 24v- this is an option that many don't have, but I have the 12V one. It comes with two wires that you would have to terminate to the existing heater wires. Its just cut and splice.
The 400R series also has an optional water sensor- I...
I have the 460 on mine and think that it is overkill- but I have the room for it. The nice thing about the 400R series is that the filters are interchangeable. If the 445 turns out to be a problem you can put a larger (longer) filter on the same base, the heads are pretty much the same.
Is this what you see:
1.You hold the start switch
2.The engines starts
3.You continue to hold the switch until you see voltage, frequency, oil pressure on the gauges
4.You let go of the start switch
5. the DC circuit breaker trips?
Or does it trip prior to seeing the voltage and oil pressure?
Some good ideas about using smaller motors - but please don't try to parallel generators that are not set up to do this and an education on how to do this manually. I can see many issues with this approach.
If you follow the 2 & 8 o'clock you minimize the chances for oil leaking by the seal. I used a very small dab of black RTV on the end of each seal where they will touch. I also used a very small amount of an anerobic sealant between the block and bearing cap. When all done I let it cure for...
Starting motors can take anywhere from 2 to 10 times the FLA (full load amps). There really isn't anyway for me to tell you what your motor is going to be. I can tell you that if you use a soft-start or VFD you have a much better chance for success. If you currently have this motor connected to...
With good batteries, or slave cable attached you should have ~24V off. When running it should be slightly higher, 25-27 would sound good to me. If you don't get this higher voltage while running then the charging circuit is not working.
You could probably just rebuild it yourself, you would save some money. You need parts for a 27si alternator or you can try these links:

What voltage is the battery when it is running? Sounds like there is not enough voltage from the gen to keep itself going. Try using good charged batteries to start with .
I'm not much help with this - does water in the fuel really do this? It does not seem to me that it would, but I don't have any experience with this condition. Did you use starting fluid at any point?
From the TM:
Step 6. Check fuel pump operation. Disconnect input fuel line at the fuel filter. Disconnect
pink lead from fuel injector pump. Use a quart capacity container, and crank
engine for 15 seconds. Container should be at least ¼ full or contain ½ pt (0.231)
of fuel. Install low pressure...
I don't see any problem towing 4-5k lbs. The civilian models could move up to 11,000lbs total including the truck. The military is not any less a truck than the civilian models. Now at this heavier weights I am sure that you are looking at load leveling equipment - which can not be done with the...
