Try doing a Google search on "fllat freeze plug". You should find them under a couple different names. I've been pulling wrenches for over 40 years and although I don't run into them very often, they are out there. Try Napa for a source.
I don't think it would be a wild goose chase if a...
I put Tuff Country springs on all four corners of my '56 and they've held up well. The front springs on my 1031 are shot, but I'm having no luck find a company that makes them. I don't see a listing in the Tuff Country catalog.

The cap in the master cylinder needs to be vented. Some have a hose and some have a small hole. The replacement master cylinder came with the cap with the small hole. I'm going to use it with a sheet metal cover over the entire unit. Because of the fluid being open to the outside air, mine...
I'm looking at replacing all of the rubber lines in my fuel system with Viton lines. Does anyone happen to have a source? Also, what size are the little return lines from the injectors?

I go through the drive up at our local Burger King with my 1031. I have to turn the engine off to order and they always seem to thank me for doing so. I can just imagine how loud it is on the receiving end of the intercom system...

When I was in the AF we had a mechanic that was going to be booted out. He wasn't the greatest mechanic so we had him working the lube rack doing oil changes. The thought process was "What can he really mess up on the lube rack..."
Well, we found out what he could mess up later after he was...
I picked up a master cylinder for a 1965 Jeep and it's the exact replacement for the master cylinder on the trailer. This one happens to be made by Wagner and cost under $45 including tax. The part number is MC2796. It says that it was "Made in USA", but you can never be sure these days with...
I'm running a TH400 in my '56. All of the cooling is done with an external cooler. I also installed an external filter/housing and a thermal bypass valve in the outlet line that goes to the cooler. The bypass doesn't allow fluid to go to the cooler until it reaches 175 degrees. My temp sender is...
The cap on my master cylinder has a threaded hole in the center of the top. There was a deteriorated piece of plastic in the hole when I picked the trailer up from GL.
What should have been in the hole to prevent water from getting in the reservoir? I know I have changed a lot of these...
Chack the voltage at the volt meter while running. If the voltage is good, replace the meter. If the voltage is low, locate the bad connection. Glad to hear that you're making progress!

Will do. I have changed a lot of these in the military because they tend to get water inside. The master cylinder that I pulled off the trailer looked new on the outside, but was full of water and rust. I'd like to get one with a lifetime warranty from a local parts store if possible.
