Ok just crawled under my 1008 and im not seeing that fitting after rotating the shaft by hand a few times? Not sure if removing it would make a difference?
Lots of false info in here. The 6.2 is a Detroit Engine. Detroit was a division of GM back in the day. Secondly the 5.7 diesel was not a converted 350 gasser. That myth has been regurgitated so much on the interwebs that it is quoted as gospel. The engine was built ground up as a diesel sharing...
Hmm, not sure what all the drama is about. They don't seem that loud to me but then again I drive a 18 wheeler and lots of other large equipment on a daily basis so it just sounds like normal music to my ears to me :shrugs:
Not sure where you are looking at prices but I see civy K30's selling for easy 2 to 3 times what a cucv does. I recently saw a 85 K30 Silverado with 454 and TH400 with 56000 miles sell for nearly $11,000. As others have stated there is no magic voodoo in a cucv, all its component's are available...
Why do these not really seem to crop up for sale? Is it because they are still too new?, not that many ever made unlike the original CUCV or just a legality problem?
