I too have heard replacement sheet metal and tailgates from lmc straight up suck. I read on another forum where a guy returned his truck tailgate for his m1008 because it felt like his hands were going to push through it when he closed it
I may just stick with the group 31's then. I was trying to shave a little more weight off the inner fender by going smaller than the 31's but I suppose at 60lbs each vs 80 each for the 6tl's that I currently have that should be better in the long run
Which battery to choose
I'm going to put 2 fresh batteries in my 1028 to get rid of the old heavy 6tl's it has. I'm going with interstate as I get a good discount on them as they are a vendor for my company.
I thought about going with the 31p-HMD 950 cca which weighs about 60 pounds but I...
I was greasing my 1028 today and finally went and purchased a needle nozzle so I could get the fitting on the constant velocity joint near the tcase. The lube order if im looking at it right shows a fitting for the front prop shaft slip joint near the ujoint closet to the front diff.

I don't blame you either. When I reach the point of no return with silly nickel and dime problems I have considered dropping a 454 or even the 502 that's set up for towing in my 1028.
I used to have a M1008 that sat 4 years before I bought it. I pumped the tank out put fresh fuel and a new fuel filter on it and it primed and cranked within 45 seconds or so of cranking without me needing to crack the fuel lines.
I definitely think you have something else wrong possibly the IP
Did you have to fill out a sheet or anything pertaining to the type of vehicle or engine code etc. for the pump rebuild? I ask because their is a difference of about 25hp/ 25lb ft between the C and J code engines
I don't recall you saying but how does your truck run now? Is the power level the same as before does it feel a little better now and not just the placebo effect? I have thought about having M&D Diesel here in Houston do mine when the time comes and also have all my injectors redone at the same...
So was this related to the doghead relay or the glow plug relay under the hood? I'm not seeing how the DH mod could of had anything to do with the other
