Those are nice and look like exact replacements for a 1028/1031 with the 9 plus 1 overload except the fronts not having the reverse arch. They may actually give the truck a better stance anyway
your truck looks close to it. I think it may also have just an add a leaf in the front and then the slightly taller and wider tires giving it the appearance it has
Anyone have any idea what size lift this truck may have? How about the tires and wheels? I really like the looks of this truck and would like to try and replicate it
A lot of work and cash for little to no gain. The 6.2 is turd no matter how you slice it and will never make power like the latter diesels. If you really need or just have to have more power drop in a 12v Cummins (not really cheap or easy) or a big block (a lot easier and cheaper it seems)...
Removed the glow plug resistor on my 1028 today. She starts so much better than before. Used to take about 2 or 3 seconds or a few revolutions of the engine to start, now after giving her a 5 second glow ( I think my WTS light is burned out) she fires up as soon as I hit the key.
Next step is...
tried a search but only got 1 result for a 1009. Anyone have a good how to for servicing/greasing the front hubs/lockouts on a 1008/1028?
I would like to pull mine down and clean and grease but don't want to get in over my head
This has to be the most retarded and meaningless post I have read here yet. I bet you still laugh at fart jokes and play video games in your moms basement?
HUUURR...DUUUUR... "your mom" is not an answer. Go back to posting in the GD section over on arfcom
didn't have the issue as the OP but after reading this thread and the referenced stickies I removed the horn suppressor and cut out the diode under the dash then coated the ends in liquid electric tape. I also went ahead and removed the suppressor from the wiper motor as well
Today I go out with plans to drain and replace the fluid in the trans and t-case on a 1008 I have been nursing back to health and I got a nasty surprise from the t-case when I pulled the drain plug. It was empty so I scratch my head and proceed to pump in some ATF only to have it come right back...
I 2nd this. Maybe we can call them CUCVRUS's quick tips or maintenance tip of the day [thumbzup]. Just when I think I have enough projects to do to my trucks he shows us another one
I also had a 91 F250 XLT extended cab 8 ft with the 7.3 and auto. Very good truck with a ton of miles, I wish I hadn't sold it. That twin I-beam front end was something else. If it had been 4x4 I probably would have kept it
Is cavitation an issue with the 6.2 like it was with the Ford 6.9 and especially the 7.3? I remember hearing of a lot of 7.3's that became victim of it but I have never heard of a GM 6.2 having this problem
