Ok, both Autozone and O'Reilly's put their little hand-held battery testers on the batteries and at 1000 cranking amps, they both tested "good needs-charged". At 750 amps, they both tested "good". As for testing under load, not sure if that's what their hand held devices did or not.
I love the...
I've got stuff coming to make the truck pass inspection, so I'll get that taken care of. Battery connections are fine, and batteries charged, but haven't had chance to get them load tested yet.
I'm fairly certain that the truck used to buzz when the key was turned one click. I'm also fairly...
The seller is being good about it. He has offered to come by this weekend which I appreciate.
I just made a video. Maybe someone will know what the issue is immediately.
Before today, the clicks in the dash would stop. Today, it seems to continue clicking.
I'm browsing the "CUCV Switches...
I have some mechanical skills, but no mechanic. I can replace parts, but will likely require a manual. I'm glad they're posted on these boards.
As for wiring diagrams, maybe. I've never used them before. Pretty sure I understand the basic principals of electricity, and have had to deal with...
My intent was to buy a running truck. I'll get this fixed, it just puts a big pause on some home improvement plans I had.
[edit] I'm reading the forum now.
Batteries have been charged and all fuses by the left driver foot have been replaced.
I'm being held captive by a huge green monster in my driveway! haha
Thanks for all the help and suggestions.
This my first diesel, but I thought there should be the Glow Plug wait light come on when turning the key one click. After some clicking in the dash, the clicks stop, turn the key and there is a dying buzzer sound that starts then fades away and the...
When I turn the key one click, the glow plugs light is not coming on like I would expect. After waiting until the water in fuel light goes off, then waiting just tad more until the clicking in the dash stops, I turn the key and then just CLUNK. It sounds like the starter trying to engage, but no...
Feeling like a big fat idiot right about now. Was running great and even drove it around a bit. I expected the occasional issue, but not the first day.
Anyone wanna buy a M1008? j/k
New M1008. :) It started earlier no problem. Now, I turn the key, don't see the glow plug lights come on, only the water in fuel light. Turn the key and just CLUNK. Nothing.
I should not have parked the truck in the drive way. My car is blocked in the garage. :P
Quick suggestions would be...
I imagine the guy I bought it from uses these message boards. Wouldn't be too surprised. I get the feeling he buys and resells lots of these. He said he has a M101A trailer and you can partly see the red vintage military fire truck in his driveway he's also selling.
The markings on the side say:

Director of Logistics
Maintenance Division
Also shows what appears to be the globe with a HUGE Texas taking up much of the USA. I'll have to keep that.
It's somewhat blacked out, but not really.
