I ended up buying a NOS canvas transmission shift boot. I cleaned what appeared to be a mildew off it but cannot get rid of the smell. Anyone run I to this and how did you get rid of the smell from the canvas....other than throwing it out? This sucker was hard to find and it is in perfect shape...
I must be doing something wrong, but I searched "Route Clearance Lights" and it shows the below results, the third page has a thread about route clearance lights but just for sale and regular ones, not Truck lite. I digress and will just browse tonight. I also searched "Truck Lite". Maybe if I...
Has anyone installed these Truck lite lights
I will search again, the search feature on the site seems to return 99% unrelated results after scrolling through several pages.
I have the Truck Lite headlights and I am interested in adding the driving lights and maybe the flood or spotlights as seen in the picture below. I was wondering if anyone has installed any of these, how do you like them and where did you mount them on your Deuce? These are the military 24v...
I thought these came with buckets that replaced the original. I have not tried to install mine yet in my deuce but the appear to be the same 3 bolt mounting pattern, but maybe my memory is failing me. To be clear I am speaking about the Truck lite brand 07379 which is the black bucket version.
I willed sure but mine did not have much of an angle if I recall, likely 4 degrees.
Also, the measurement of the two were different with the 10 being less thick than the 12. I cannot remember how much, I can measure but at least a half inch. The u-bolts were barely long enough for the 12.
Thanks to everyone, sounds like I just need to put the other side on.
I am not sure why it had the 10 leaf ones on but that might be why my tires were chewed up, maybe it wasn't sitting correctly.
You might be right. In reading for the last 2 hours it appears that the 5-ton springs may be wider and take different size pins and may actually have 16 leafs, maybe someone can confirm. Also, I saw several people say in a couple posts that their deuce springs (without a winch) had 12 leafs (14...
I think I may be in a bit of a bind. I have a 1969 2.5 ton deuce and one of the front springs was shot and it was leaning (and one of the rear, but that's another story). I bought a used set off someone on this forum several weeks ago that he said came off a 2.5 ton. I am just now getting time...
Actually my only problem is determining what my tarp fits, 2.5 ton or 5 ton. The rest of the kit is for a 2.5t given it only has everything for 5 bows, but the cover appears to be for a 5 ton. A more experience person would probably know by looking at it but I don't.

Well I have read everything above and bought what was thought to be a 2.5 ton dropside kit but the tarp does not appear to be correct. Here is the deal if anyone can shed some light on what I have. The kit only included enough bows, corners and staves for a 2.5 ton (5 total bows) but the rest of...
Anyone have a line on where I can find a decent shift lever tip and shift plate? I have had no luck finding them. It has been a problem twice in traffic so I need to get it fixed.

I was wondering if anyone has adapted or looked into adapting a fording kit for the5-ton M51A2 for use on a 2.5 ton M35A2. I cannot locate a kit for the M35A2 but see them for the M51A2 dump truck.
Heater hose and fittings
I am going to be working on installing an A3 heater in my A2 this weekend, but the problem is the truck is a 2 hour round trip and I am not sure what size fittings I need to fit in the block. I would prefer to have the parts I need with me rather than find out upon...
M35A3 heater core
I thought maybe that w the case but I see several posts of incorrect hook ups resulting in no heat and all they did was swap the hoses under the hood. Plus this article not only shows which hookup points to use but it shows which one is the inlet and which is the outlet under...
M35A3 heater core
But that is where I get confused because the tubes come in side-by-side on the bottom and it is the longer one that curves and comes in from the top.
