M109A3 update: Reported by Carnac and just confermed by Andydieselpower that my M109 is not a 1972, as I was told by GL. It is actually a 1988 and pos a ex Air Force truck.
On the door windows of my M109, there is a Viracon logo. It just so happens that Viracon is one of the largest employers in my home town. I thought that was a neat "little known fact" that I would share.

I gave my ladder to a friend tonight. He is going to show it to some of the fabricators where he works. Hopefully they can get it fixed. I told him that it didn't have to be perfect, just better. Fingers crossed.
I am looking for one that has 5 steps and has 2 round pockets on each side for the hand railings. I will see if I can get a better picture of what I am looking for.
I found the ad for the tan one. I am not sure how to do the link ( or if it will work). If not here is the description and 3 pictures.

M109A3 SHOP VAN, 2 1/ 2 TON 6X6. AM GENERAL SN NK0E60 1051 10009. WITH HARD TOP, HEATER AND...
There were 2 M109 W/W up for auction when I won this one at Ft. McCoy. The other one was a tan hard top model. The picture inside the box showed what looked like 6-8 of the work benches. Mine was bare exept for the ladder, two chock blocks and a never been used A/C power cable.
That is what I thought. The white lights came on the truck from Ft. McCoy, WI.
The problem is that I haven't figured out how the lights work. :?: I haven't followed the wires yet and I don't even know if that will help.
