Has anyone put some kind of valve in place of the drain plug on the m35's fuel tank? Any info and ideas would be appreciated.
I am replacing my fuel tank because of rust and I dont ever want to have to do it again. I want to be able to drain the water on a regular basis.
Thanks,
Allan
Dont want to hijack this thread, but thought this may interest some of you that think the electric pump is very important. I am not saying it's not nice to have, but I dont think it's all that important - more of a convenience.
I had to move my duece tonight without a fuel tank. Rigged it up...
Maybe it's not the correct thing to do, but having so many trucks running without a good lift pump would give a good indication that it's not a big deal.
Again, I would suggest looking for ways that air may be getting into the lines.
I doubt it's the in tank pump. Many people on the forum are running without the pump working. Me for one and my truck starts right up.
I would guess that your having a little drane back. Just a guess but maybe check your injector lines.
I think your getting air in the lines somewhere.
Update.. I was going to have the tank lined, but was told that it doesnt work too well with baffled tanks. Besides "speedy" couldnt get to it till next week. So I am fixing it myself and will be looking for a newer tank. After cleaning it out with acid I found that about the only thing holding...
It never seems to end. I was under my Duece and saw a drop of water on the bottom of the fuel tank. Thought it was odd as the truck is kept inside my shop. I wiped the drop off and another showed up. I wiped the next one off hard and a stream came gushing out of the bottom of the tank. So I...
My Duece is a non turbo and up until this point I have not had the plastic battery box in the battery compartment. I have just installed one and now I am worried that I may melt it. Is this possible since the spark arrestor is right next to the battery box?
I havent put them on yet. They are next on my list.
I have gotten the truck up and running again though. :)
PS. I had to move those tires into the shop. Someone tried to steal them. :(
