I picked up a truck from Nellis on Tuesday :) Well, it was really 3 trucks (2 x 1009 and 1 x 1008A1) but 2 of them belong to my boss. We drove as far as Mesquite, NV on Monday night and then made the easy hour final leg to Vegas on Tuesday morning. Chris on base there at Nellis was very helpful...
Yeah, I was disappointed to see the weight. I was hoping for something a little lighter to pull behind my wrangler when I'm camping etc. M416 would be perfect... if I could find one that wasn't ridiculously priced.
We (work) recently purchased 4 MEP007Bs for backup power. They don't frequently show up on GL, so when a good lot of them showed up we jumped all over it even tho they were located in Georgia and it wasn't possible to preview. Two of the 4 seem complete and should be ready to run soon, but 2 of...
I bought an A1 probably 6 months ago for $350 off of GL. It didn't have rails or a top... it was kind of a spontaneous buy and there was admittedly a little regret. I don't even think I had it for 2 months tho before someone offered to buy it for $400. I sold it to him and he put an MEP-003A...
I called and spoke with Michael... he was pretty helpful but unsure if he could sell the legs to anyone but the government. He certainly wouldn't sell a single unit to me as an individual. I asked him if he would consider selling a larger quantity if we got a group buy together, but he didn't...
Thanks man
I had an M101A1 that was pretty easy to get around the yard and hook to my Jeep when empty, but trying to hook/unhook it when it had some gear in it was a little tricky. Something like what you linked will work awesome.
I wasn't even aware of the crank up style gear until reading another thread earlier today. From what I can tell, it looks like I missed out there :-| Is there a good aftermarket unit that people like on these? Not necessarily trying to stay original, although that would be cool...
Wow... I wonder if that's because you're on the Gulf and subject to extended outages thanks to hurricanes etc? Maybe we should put a thread together showing the regional price differences on gensets. I know shipping from any distance would probably kill the deal, but if someone was interested in...
Interesting. Thanks for the heads up. I guess I'll just be patient and wait for another 003. There was one that sold yesterday with ~1,600 hours on it plus the acoustic enclosure, but it went for a premium (at least in my opinion)... $1,250.
Meanwhile they sold probably 10 002s for anywhere...
Good point about the DMV thing. Here it's not required, but when I bought my M1031 and had my brother drive it up from California, I went to my local office and paid $4 for a 5 day pass I think?
I imagine this question has been asked before, but I couldn't find any threads after a couple of searches. Apologies if it's been covered before...
Anyway, I know GL sells the 002s as sets on trailers and I was just assuming that was so they could have 5kw or 10kw, depending on need. My boss...
I pulled mine home behind my Jeep wrangler. I used some magnetic trailer lights from Harbor Freight that plugged into a normal flat 4 trailer plug. That thing towed like a dream.
If you use your 1008 to tow it home, you've already got a spare for either the truck or the trailer.
