You will need to install a microswitch onto the shifter to control the reverse lights. I have never used that exact b&m shifter so I don't know how the microswitch mounts to it but just get another switch like the one that is used for the neutral safety and play with mounting positions until...
I feel the same way. So many people leave the outcome just hanging in the air with no explanation on what the solution was. Come on guys! We are here to help each other out. Return the favor by posting the results!
You can always sell it and find another one. BUT- how easy will it be to find one as good as the 1031 you have? How far are you willing to drive for one? All good things to consider. Without seeing your 1031 in person it's hard to put a price on it.
Now if I was going to sell mine, I'm not...
I would recommend using -6 line. It is big enough. -8 or -10 might be too big to snake in and out of where you need to go with it. And of course it's cheaper. -6 is what is used for transmission oil cooler lines on most hot rods and drag cars. -8 or -10 will work, I'm just saying it is a bit...
If you have deep pockets the ls9 would be fun. Something a little more in the average guys budget would be a 6 liter.
I'm doing a conversion on a customer's 85 chevy civvy pickup using a 2009 ly6 6.0 engine with variable valve timing and the 6l80e transmission. Relatively easy swap, as far as ls...
Project is looking good. I like the way that flat bed looks. I think you will get more use out of the truck that way.
Keep the pics coming when you get back to the front.
I have 2 trips to make from Fond du lac Wi to Cincinnati OH, will have an empty 20 foot trailer on trip to OH. Call if this interests you. 920 344 9023
I believe the biggest problem is the size of the sidewalls on the tires, meaning that there is more flex left to right. Maybe deflection is a better word for it?
2 weeks ago I pulled my cucv home from our place up north, which is 260 miles. This is my tan truck with the 37 inch hmmwv tires. I...
I cant say for sure about the functionality of the cold weather pump but I'm thinking that it will be fine running the regular blend fuel through it. I doubt the timing would be any different though.
I have a banks sidewinder on my truck and I turned it up a quarter turn, just like the tech...
They are 3/8 - 16 NC. Find some about an inch long. Any longer and they will bind with each other when tightend. Meaning the top bolt will hit the bottom bolt when installed all the way if bolts are too long.
I did the same thing with one of my trucks. Cut off a receiver from a hitch that was made to bolt to the frame of some other truck. Then I welded it to the bottom of the flat plate on the bumper directly below the pinte hitch. I pulled my 18 foot fiberglass bass boat. It worked ok but the bottom...
I had a problem with hard starts and surging on my '08. After fuel pump/filter stil no change. Turned out to be a small pinhole in the fuel line under the rear of the cab. If I remember correctly it was under a small metal cover or guard. The steel fuel line was rubbing on the bottom of the cab...
On the vin number 4th character is the GVW indicator. It's an "H" on a M1028/A1/A2/A3, M1031, M1010, a "G" on an M1008/A1, and an "E" on an M1009
Your truck looks good with that box on it. Where around Hayward are you at? Keep an eye out for my tan cucv. I stay around Loretta on the weekends.
I agree with FMJ. The EGT is what you have to worry about, not the coolant at 200 degrees. I wouldn't worry about the coolant temp until it goes over 225 degrees.
On my truck I get off of the skinny pedal when my EGT hits 1000, and this can happen fast on a grade while pulling a trailer.
