which is better? king pin front axle or ball joint style

Thanks for the info. I will be using the Allison trans and the 261xhd transferred case. This as well as all gm trucks with independent front suspension have the front driveshaft on the drivers side. Wish it wasn't the case, because its an expensive upgrade to buy a Dana 60!

    Replace fuel pump/bleeding line

Remove the fuel return line on the front of the injection pump. It is a rubber hose. Loosen your bleeder plug on your filter housing. Take your blow gun and blow compressed air into the rubber line. Be gentle with the air, if you put to much pressure in there you might blow something. do this...

Running one 12v alternator on a stock 24v system

I did the same thing on my 1031. Gen 2 stopped charging and I could drive it for about a month. This was every day back and forth to work. Then I would put the charger on the 2nd battery for a couple hours and I was good to go for another month. And my glow plug system is bone stock. So yes, in...

    M1008 from little falls mn

I would suggest finding a tow bar, that would be better then a dolly, and less weight to pull then a trailer. I have a truck to pick up there when my euc goes through. Good luck!

    Recovered my M871 today

Thats a nice looking trailer, the landing gear seems to be pretty heavy-duty. I wish I had a big truck to haul a trailer like that, but then it would mean I would end up hauling more and bigger stuff home! What do you plan on using it for if you dont mind me asking?

    New from Wisconsin

Yes Paul, that would be Leo I was referring to. Quite the character. He was telling me what a great time it is at Poof Stock, sounds like a "cant miss" event! I will have to figure out a way to fit it in around my musky hunting, that is prime for the long fish. Thanks for the warm welcome...

    M1008 comes home finally

Well I brought home my first m1008 from Ft Meade. The starter, starter cable, driveshaft, glow plug card, and a few other misc. things were missing. Truck has 20,000 miles, but was assaulted by a forklift on the passenger side sheetmetal. I put in a new 12 volt starter, rewired it for 12 volts...
