I removed my Trailer supply valve first, it only has one line going to the floor all the rest feed off the other valve, it's tight but not that bad, you can hold the fitting with one wrench and loosen the nut and make great progress. It's full of gunk but the o rings look ok. can't figure out...
Defiantly post up the numbers! These should be serviceable and may just need an o ring replaced but you never know. I'll dive into the check valves first.
Did you solve this yet? Mine is leaking from the front and rear emergency gladhands. Going to work some oil in the tractor protection valve and the control body and see if that helps.
After checking our trucks at work they run 2000 rpm at 55 mph with the 3126 and 7 SPD Alison. I bet you could boost the governor up to 2500 rpm and be OK.
There is great info around about the governor on the 3116. I believe it won't be very hard to make an adjustment there. Perhaps a removal of a shim. But I'm not sure encouraging a higher rpm will be productive. Our dump trucks at work have almost this exact drive train I need to check and see...
I think the broker never had a driver lined up and has just been yanking my... leg ya leg that's it.. I'm going to get my deposit back tomorrow and move on looking for another shipper, if i end up not finding one then second plan will probly be better weather and a continuation on the trip...
There is a sticky in the 5 ton listing from Chris about the differences in your truck with and without abs, I personally wouldn't run the truck without it, the problem being it stops too well, causes fishtailing on pavement and is the cause of many deaths.
Sorry guys, I didn't get any notice there had been posts here. I had to postpone the trip for a couple reasons.after which I got a shipping quote for 2500, he is supposed to be there tomorrow. Sound like Glen will need help with the starting though. I would be totally up sh*t creek without him.
I would say talk to a truck drive line shop. No disrespect but those guys probly only deal with little 4x4 drivelines. Our dumptrucks at work are atleast 70"+ and it's just my 2cents but try to steer clear of a carrier bearing, they wear out quickly and are kind of a pain to deal with.
thanks for the encouragement! we will soon have enough trucks in Oregon to make a rally!
Thank you Sir! medic5050 is in portland so we're fairly covered there, I grew up close to ontario and have tons of family in boise/caldwell/ontario so as long as i'm on I-84 in idaho or oregon i'm feeling...
