the 40 mph warning was from the pre abs, i guess before they got abs on them they had all kinds of bad accidents so they lowered the speed limit to 40, there is abs non abs sticky in this section about it. I really appreciate all your hard work glen, YOU make this forum and hobby worth being...
One small safety feature that i would add is a pin on the upper mount of the bracket. like a self bailing hitch pin, as to keep the tank from being able to slide out if the bungee broke. or you could even use a padlock if you were concerned about theft. It would be really easy to make your own from fiberglass, I have been kicking around doing this on my 105. fiberglass is really easy stuff to work with.

#1 the setup pictured is on a 1/2 ton dodge full size pickup, it's got a 440 big block and runs 11x20 tires, I doubt seriously he is running anywhere near 3k lbs, again the setup works like a dream as SERVICE brakes...
I don't agree, It has been proven that pinion brakes are effective on these axles, also they can be mounted directly to the axle, there are several guys on pirate 4x4 that have proven this point, and are using them as SERVICE not emergency brakes. they may use them in offroad situations only but...
