What is the correct diagnostic sequence for this problem?

You will need to have your IP rebuilt to spec by a reputable shop telling them what your intentions are. The other orings are just time consuming. I have not done mine yet but it will be done in the future as PM. I am interested and considering running B20 but the proper way. If you are running...

What is the correct diagnostic sequence for this problem?

In their current configuration Cucv's are designed to run on Diesel only. Do a search on this site and google it. The answers you seek will take alot of digging. Sounds to me like you gummed up your fuel system and even filtered WMO still has metal particulates that are like sandpaper to your...

    Starters going out

Well so far 6months on my DB with no issues and I use it 2 to 3 times a week. New FW, brkt, bolts, and shimmed correctly. The GR starter sounds like the new Humvees. It's all preference. The original 27MT in mine was toast. The rebuilt the PO installed was smoked (smelled burnt) and since the...

    Cucv extreme rattle noise

Here's another simple one. Check your air cleaner. I took the metal grate out of mine because it was coming apart. I heard a buzz sound that would go away at higher RPM. I grabbed my air cleaner and it went away. Two thick washers under the nuts and Viola, no more buzz.

    Cucv extreme rattle noise

The fuel runs along the valley and exits over the bell housing. Fix your GP system cause one day, Whiff, Whiff, BOOM! You have probably spent more in either in 5 yrs than the GP repair would have cost. Mine has a decal on the Air cleaner that forbids the use of either. Good luck!

    Rear Seat and generator questions...

Suburban thru 98 3rd row seats work. Vintage Air makes a kit where you can use both alternators. Search the threads. If you eliminate 1 alternator you will need to do the Rosecommon 12V conversion but that will leave you pretty much by yourself in diagnosing electrical issues and you will have...

    Starters going out

Flywheel also avail on *bay $55.00 shipped. Search 6.2 flywheel. Get rid of that starter and upgrade to the Gear reduction. Mine was the same way. Bad relay, unknowing PO that installed a 12V cheap rebuild. The rest was history. Your call. Hope you get it fixed. Been there, done that, still have...

What is the correct diagnostic sequence for this problem?

Either is a NO, NO make truck go BOOM. You need to do a complete WMO conversion with heaters, orings, IP recal, etc.

    Starters going out

DB Electrical has a gear reduction 24 V starter for $108.00 brand new with a 1 year no hassle warranty. It is available direct or on *Bay. The appropriate bracket is GM 23502557 available at any dealer. I have one of these on mine with instant starts and no problems so far. Make sure to get a...

After losing a wheel and almost my life...

I second this!!!! Never drive a CUCV fresh from the military or from another owner without first doing a total PM service. So many people think that just because some of these had low mileage (actually odo may have rolled over a time or two) that they can drive these almost 30 yr old vehicles...

    air bowing out oil fill

If the oil is milky ie water in the oil I think you have a blown head gasket or a cracked head.. Get a pressure tester and test the cooling system at the radiator. Sounds like time for a rebuild if it doesnt hold pressure or if there is water in the oil (oil looks like foamy chocolate milk)...

    Should I?

If you look at the 09's that were sold ot of AK you will find heaters for everything plus an additional personel heater and a blanket to go over the top that covers the qtr glass to keep the heat in. These trucks have absolutely no insulation. Read the TM's for Arctic use and service everything...
