    Starter problem on my 6.2.

One last thing. Make sure the ground strap from the rear of the block is connected to the firewall otherwise you will have some weird electrical issues. Good luck!

    Starter problem on my 6.2.

First you need a 12v starter if you are not running dual alternators and the CUCV 24v system under the hood, second you need new bolts (a must avail at any GM dealer), third you need shims (even the original starter sometimes requires them for a reinstall), and last you need to make sure the...

    Tires for M1009

33's may rub your fenders a bit. This is what 32's look like. See how close to the front fender they are when the wheels are straight then picture it in an articulated turn. Now picture 33's. Those 32's are my off road aggressive tread tires

Now how did I do this? Cracked Pistons.

    Tires for M1009

Kevlar is in the tread belts for extra rigidity and puncture resistance. They are not bullet proof. J.

    Tires for M1009

Don 32 11.50 15 will work best with the stock elevation. CJ Yokohama Geolandar AT/S is the best bang for the buck according to consumer reports and myself as I have a set in the stock size. They are 50K mike rated, are quiet, and have great on and off road traction.

    Black engine oil!?

Unfortunately my 09 doesnt have those stickers however I am going to check the TM for lubricants as if I can use SAE30 here in Florida I may get better performance and lubrication. I change every 3K, a rule that has suited me well as I have had vehicles that if they had no been totalled would...

    Will not run

Definetly sounds fuel related. Check for leaks at the filter housing and along the length of the fuel line as air bubbles in a diesel will give you the same result. What kind of fuel have you been running? If you have been using straight pump diesel you may have ruined your IP as it does not...

    towing a m101a2 question m1009

I tow my M101A2 all over town with loads of up to 40 tires with the stock pintle lubed and maintained and the addition of the front L plate from an M1008 that I am going to tie into my class 3 hitch for added support. Don't let the horror stories scare you just be careful, make sure your hitch...

    It's TURBO TIME!!!

Everyone is forgetting one thing. Bolting on a Turbo is an aweesome thing but what no one has mentioned is a DSG stud girdle and a fluid damper as insurance. I would hate to spend $800 to $1200 on all of that just to blow it up. Plenty of guys run them saying they haven't had any problems but...

    Glow Plug process overhaul

jj&a racing makes the other tool which is far better and less money than the OTC tool. Also go to cucvelectric.com and get you a complete set up as I did. Legacy card, 60G's, Manual, Temp sender, Relay, connectors and all was about $200.00 including shipping but will give you everything...

Guess my cheap m1009 isnt going to be so cheap

Way too much for a seal replacement. Shop it. I just paid a diesel tech friend of mine $520 to do the dog head mod, rear main, dsg stud girdle, pan gasket, flywheel, starter, service and seal both axles, trans service, front brakes, install both batteries and cables, replace fuel filter, and...

    M416 cargo trailer for M1009

Loosen the nut and pump the grease nipple on the bottom full of as much grease as you can get in there working it free with a crow bar then resecuring the nut. I have been towing my m101a2 around with no problems and with loads of over 30 used tires. The class 3 hitch option has a non swivel...

Differences between tilt column and non tilt

You cannot use an older tilt column on a newer truck period. If the dimmer and the wipers are in the column that is the style you need to go with. Make sure to get the delay box as well. The new column will most likely have the intermittent wiper switch as well as cruise (tilt/cruise option was...

    lack of motivation

When you get it back together start it and see if you stiil have the idle issue. You may have to bleed it some more but there is a good possibility it will all clear up.

Any Ft Stewart/ Southern GA owners willing to teach?

I'm in Jax. 2 1/2 hours away. If you want a cucv you might want to get on it as supply is dwindling. You can follow my build and can check it out in person anytime. I have pics up as well. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/cucv/80726-epartsmans-m1009-build.html

    Engine discussion again

Do what you feel. It's your truck. Im staying 6.2, already stud girdled, going with fluid damper, a/c and Banks turbo eventually. I like the simplicity of the Detroit.
