    My new M1101 and Jeep!

You got a bargain. Ours was over $850. Still a trailer that the Government paid $8985 for, to purchase for less than a thousand dollars is a great deal. Remember each tire sells for $720 on the internet.

    I agree with you.

    My new M1101 and Jeep!

Looks like you have all the problems solved. Below is what I did to get the 2" standard hitch on our 1101. Since our jeep is stock height, our pintle setup will not work for our Jeep. It does work for our F250 pickup. The smaller 5k pintle was to small for our military lunette, so I purchased...

Got my new to me M1102 and a couple questions for you guys

We were able to keep the stock lunette and add a standard hitch. The standard hitch is held in place by three 1/2 inch bolts. I will take pictures tomorrow. By removing the three bolts, the standard hitch is removed and you are back to the stock lunette/ pintle hook up. 1156 and 89 12 volt bulbs...

    My new M1101 and Jeep!

We have a 2014 Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. Also have a 2011 M1101 and three 1988 M116a3 trailers. We have not pulled our M1101 with our Jeep yet, but you give us hope that it will not be a problem. Pulling the 800 lb. M116a3 trailers is no problem with our Rubicons. Since both of our M1101...

    M116A3 behind a Jeep Wrangler

Our m116a3 is a flatbed. I don't think a matching color would look good on it, so I am having it painted gloss black. If it had sides like our picture, then yes, it would like nice. I think your friends matching paint scheme looks great. We do have a M1101 which has sides, but it is a 2011 in...

    M116A3 behind a Jeep Wrangler

Stay in Southern California and keep it at 55 mph and you will be just fine. Come up here and go 55 mph and you better put chains on your doors, because trucks going by will blow them off.

    M116A3 behind a Jeep Wrangler

You might be right Ken. Being serious, out here if you do 55 mph, on the freeway, you will get run over. We are 152 miles above Sacramento, where the traffic is a lot lighter, and most big rigs run 60-65 mph on the Freeway.

    M116A3 behind a Jeep Wrangler

He was just trying to be witty. I see vehicles passing me at over 70 mph pulling trailers. Not legal, but it happens.

There are a lot of reasons to avoid this State.

So they tell me... You would even get better mpg at 55 mph.

    M116A3 behind a Jeep Wrangler

Opps,, typo it is a M116a3 trailer. It will work great for holding fishing gear, gas, water, food, in containers that I will strap down with ratchet type straps while exploring ghost towns and old mines out in the desert, and going to lakes up in the mountains. Plenty of road clearance. 18.2...

    M116A3 behind a Jeep Wrangler

Well, today I pulled our M116a3 flatbed trailer to DMV and back, 52 miles. I averaged 18.2 mpg with our 2014 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. That is almost what I get empty. So pulling a M116 is no strain.

    M116a3 Wiring

Success. My problem was the same as glassk. The yellow wire in the plug was not connected. I bought a new plug and wired the trailer, and now everything works perfect. Next week I am having it painted, so I will post pictures then. All the suggestions here were great. I have one more trailer to...

    M116a3 Wiring

Yes, that is what I plan to do, here in about a hour and a half. I am still trying to wake up. It is early here on the west coast. Being old and retired, it takes a while for the old bones to get moving. I will post my findings. Again, thank you all.

    M116a3 Wiring

Very, very good information. Thank you all. I am sure now that I will be able to find the problem. What makes me think that it might be a bad "new wiring harness" is that I can light up the left tail light with an external power source. You would not normally think a new plug would be bad, but...
