I know you can't use the M1008's hyrdaboost on the M1009 Blazer, however will a unit from a civvy blazer (of the same year) work?

Checking out the volts output of the truck while it's running, I am getting a total putput of 31.5 at the 24v block. 17 volts at the back battery, 14.5 at the front. 17 sounds kinda high, right? I was thinking of seeing around 14.5 on each, thus producing around 29v at the 24v block, but not...
