I have also used GOOGLE to find answers. Google m1009 license plate mount and about 8 titles pop up, most lead back to Steel Soldiers.
I had to do this with a Gen 1 light issue I had a few weeks ago, seems a little faster than search, although I did use search for a few hours.
Your local garage or power eq shop should have taps, perhaps you could ask a favor and have them do it. Any real good hdwe store should also carry taps.
Remove head and have it pressure checked, if its cracked it will show up. If its good might as well have the valves and seats cleaned up. Just as a precaution might as well pull the other side and do the same.

Also Warthog has some excellent electrical info that he has shared with us. Both are worth the time spent reading.

Welcome aboard, read up on a few modifications posted around here, in particular the doghead modification, its easy ,cheap and will save you a lot of $ and time down the road.
I have replaced both my 6.2 heads , I just went out and checked one of my take outs and there is no way that all the lifters will pull out. Pulling the heads is not a bad job. Hardest part is pulling the injector lines.

Its called "super spec' From Benjamin Moore. Cleans up with soap and water. Can be applied with a brush. At first I put it in a spray bottle and tested it. Later on I put in in a HVLP sprayer. Prep was power washer and wire brush or wheel as needed.

I have sprayed the bottom side with rust converter. All the rust, even the leaf springs turned black and no sign of rust after 3 months. The guy who recommended it sprayed his truck a year ago and no signs of rust.
You still have to wait for the glow plugs to cycle,so make sure your system is up to the task. And then you should wait till the prechamber is at operating temp, and the glow plugs stop cycling.
Seems like a lot of wasted time when some ones life is on the line.
