Chuck,
What show were you at?? I agree with you, in fact I liked the MVs at Motor Muster more than most of the vehicles that were there. Although my daughter was quite ticked there was no M35 there (at least when we went), I tried to explain that the CCKW that was present was good too.......I...
It does look different.......I like the 7.50s too. Would have gotten more pictures except my three year old was VERY upset that there were no M35s. I explained it was still a deuce and a half, but she wasn't buyin' it!!!!
Not the best picture of it, but this was taken a week ago. Verified it has 9.00s on it. Had normal CCKW rims on it, but not sure what modifications were done to the truck to allow them to work.
Glad it was saved, that is to good looking to be cut up!
Now that gas is cheaper than diesel, can you get more "cruising per dollar" out of a gasser than a multi (assuming no waste oil usage)? I guess the better question is what kind of mileage would a gasser get vs. the multi.......
RE: FMTV news - DoD, BAE Sign $1.65B Contract for Cargo Truc
I can't imagine what the fuel savings would be either, but that has got have something to do with it.....
There is new policy coming that our jets can't fly with any extraneous items (large toolboxes, excessive hydraulic...
Is the CCKW cab/sheetmetal the same as the ton and a half Chevy? Just a curiostity, they look the same, but are they interchangeable???? I guess the real question is....is the Chevy an essentially shortened, closed cab, single axle version of the CCKW?
That is definitely a sweet truck! From the looks of what you've posted before, I can't wait to see the end result.
By the way, what ever happened with the M139??
RE: New and just purchased m35a2-
Just one of my many irritating talents!! The make and model were easy.....but then it was the pushbar that gave it away! 440?
Great truck too!
I've had issue with them before, but in my case it wasn't the equipment.....I used a very expensive commercial cabinet and still had issues with some materials I wished to remove. I believe the media and the material you're stripping make the difference. I know glass beads are fairly gentle to...
Pretty dang cool. I've always read that if they had just gotten better engines the 262 would have really been something to worry about...
It's a shame the Germans kept having all those bearing plants blow up!!!!! A lot of Airman sacrificed so that they wouldn't/couldn't have better engines.
That truck looks good as is!! What is it's story?? It looks like it wasn't worked too hard the last 65 years....
Was the dash replaced, or was it some rarity?
Keep the pix coming!

For aircraft usage, we used .020 for cannon plugs and other light duty. For screw/bolts, etc., we used .032. Up to .040 for some other applications. I don't know the Army way for sure or what was actually used, but I'd guess .032. .032 is good/strong for general use, as the .020 was...
Since the subject was brought up......
I remember the AGE dispatch at my base driving these Jeeps around the flightline, and taking the odd one for a quick cruise. Since they were designed to pull aircraft power units and other ground equipment we used (not used as aircraft tugs since we had...
